Holy shit someone just flat out stood up for netkar. This is going to get good in there.

I think Tim Wheatley still races in an Indy league at iR.

Their advertising budget must be crazy. I'm guessing the Josh Wise paint scheme cost them 30 grand for the two races, plus all these promo videos they are always doing. Like you said, iR has tonnes of potential, just no proper business plan. Plus I do think if DKs ego were to be brought down a few notches that would help also. The comment where he says "our biggest problem is that nobody knows about us" proves that he's not in touch with reality or he thinks we're all morons. Then there is the cows eating the grass comment. I thought that was a joke at first. Man he should post more, keep in touch with the community, maybe race once in awhile too.

I just shake my head at this post. "A massive over simplification" my ass!! iR has plenty of cash. They could easily sign a deal with goodyear to get some REAL DATA. A concept DK is unaware of me thinks.

If you want to sound smart on the forums now you start off by saying " As DK has said the Tg is......"

Quote from PMD9409 :Yeah its scary how much some of them are. If you read some of the things, it makes you think Iracing is a religion, dk is Jesus, and the other are followers. Truly scary.

Dk knows what's wrong, every bit of it. Totally. That's why he posts the opposite of how the tires are reacting currently when it comes to tire temps. Every post they make is just degrading their product because they show their true knowledge each time.

lol and Physical Properties of Polymers Handbook is their bible.

Yep profits must be up if they are "moving to a nicer view".

Andrew B. makes me laugh. He is the definition of a fanboy.

The HPD tyre thread? Yes. It's basically pissed me off to the point that I need a break for awhile. Their arrogance is really starting to show and I'm feeling patronized at this point.

iracing, eric hudec, dave k. arrogance are really starting to get to me. My sub ends with this month and I think I'll be taking a break from iR for awhile.

There has been rumour that the reason why the beta tire model was changed so much was because the dwc drivers didn't like it. I wonder if this is true.

How are you guys finding it now? From what I've been reading on the steam forums it's not even worth getting right now.

I'd say get the DFGT and buy clubsport pedals from fanatec.

No the motec and atlas read surface temps as was explained by dk.

Damn definately no beta testers at iR. Graphics bugs all over the place now. lol.

Quote from Glenn67 :DK explained that at great length, you are assuming you are looking at spot core temps at 25%, 50% & 75% accross the tyre which is a reasonable assumption as thats how it is most often done, but the way that it is curretnly being measured is an average of the first 1/3, an average of the middle 1/3 and and average of the last 1/3.

These averages include the shoulders of the tyre and therfore the reported temps on the two outer are lower than what you would expect if you were doing 25%,50% & 75% spot checks.

DK said he will likely change this to be more like spot checks, but he also went into detail on how you can use the data in its current form to 'read' a setup which makes sense entirley and works when building sets. The same principles DK mentioned on reading the temps I have seen referenced in books such as Tune to Win so they are not new principles its just the data readings are in a slightly different form than most people are comfortable with.

I hear ya. The temps I'm talking about though are surface temps I got from MoTec. It seems that no matter the tire pressure the middle temps are always higher on all tires but the LF. iRacing always had problems with tempurates on that tire for some reason. I was just reading that thread and he did say to someone to basically forget the temps and just go by feel which tells me the pressures and temps don't mean anything.

No matter how much you lower the tire pressure on the impalla the middle of the tire is hotter than the edges on the right sides. Dave. K basically said never mind the tempuratures and just focus on how the car drives. The new tire model is just a bunch of fudged numbers I think. I don't understand why Dave K. doesn't get real world information from Goodyear. Talking side ways about polymer strains makes absolutely no sense. This sim is over rated big time.
