Quote from Flame CZE :Zoom in, they are red wirh white dots, yes I don't like them too.

Quote from EmilO ::tired: what graphics card do you have?

Not that special, Ati Radeon X800 Pro running at 1600x1200 with 4xAA and 8xAF + a bit more contrast in my videocard settings to make the shadows a bit more powerful. Furthermore I have Reflection Mod, Hi-Res skies and BetterBlackwood installed which I think is a real improvement for the graphics in LFS

For people with MS Sidewinder FF wheels there's a workaround : http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=574728
It's actually a registry hack to force the FF off. It's ridiculous that this needs to be done to get a very common steering wheel to work in a racing game, but yeah... it does work and without the incredible loss of FPS.
Otherwise you have to wait for a patch I guess.

Quote from Sketchyrollin564 :Hm.... just bought it, just isntealled it. Tryed playing it. The loading movie lagged incredibly, and the gameplay is even worse. This is THE WORST lag ive ever experienced. Idk my full computer specs, but ive got 1 gig of ram and my computer always runs LFS flawlessly with up to 3 other programs in the back ground (multitasking).

I exited EVERYTHING but TDU, and even ended the "explorer.exe" process, and the game was lagging just as bad.

I didnt tinker around with any settings yet, because its so hard to move the mouse having to wait 5 seconds for it to move, and for you to see it just passed where you wanted it to.

What do you guys think? Is it possible for me to make it playable, or am i best off selling it on ebay, and just buying it for PS2?

Have you tried to unplug your wheel (if you have any)?
Had exactly the same, I almost fell off my chair when I saw the intro animations going at 1 fps... only to find out there's a well known bug with my steering wheel and TDU.

Quote from arco :Why is it they always try and sabotage soccer matches?
Like tonight, match between Norway and Bosnia - It didn't take 30 seconds before Bosnian supporters started to bombard the pitch with fire bombs, causing the match to be stopped. Stupid ****s!

They were actually throwing fireworks at their own keeper
Hypocritically they were cheering for their team later on as they won 1-2 over Norway. (what a disastrous bad game it was btw)

Quote from somasleep :I've read somewhere on the atari forum a user suggesting using something called "tinyxp". It's a stripped down version windows xp sp2. All the things unnecessary for gaming a stripped out leaving a very lean fast version of xp.
You create a separate partion and install and play your games there.
Might be worth a look if your rig is mid or low end.

Thanks for the tip! I have a free partition anyway so I might give it a try

Does anyone know if it's possible to run TDU in a window? I seem to get the best framerates at 1024x768 but it looks like a water-painting in full screen since my native resolution for my TFT is 1280x1024

I do get fairly good fps btw with my AMD 3400+, X800Pro... around 45 most of the time with drops to 30. Settings on 2xAA, 4xAF and Medium detail.

Had this once and it was caused by my gfx card which was overheating! So be sure to check the temperatures of your gfx card if you experience this problem again. In my case I just had to clean the fan on the gfx card since it was full of dust... Because : dust = lower fan rpm = higher temperature = not good

I'm not sure, I think a small torrent can get quite good speeds right from the start because it quickly has a lot of seeders.

My point was that there's (probably) just a lot of ppl that stay logged in for god knows how long by F5'ing, instead of a single visit and then go somewhere else

I dunno, but at least the counter has gone down to 1 now. That's at least a good sign
