Quote from e2mustang :No i get it,i love drifting and shit and ofc it might get damaged, but still a nice car looks better sideways than a f-ed up one. And besides here in central eu ur lucky if see a couple of skylines in ur lifetime !

here's the great thing about looks, they are subjective, here in Aus i have seen more clean skylines with the cookie cutter mods (vertex copy bodykit, drift teks or something similar) than you've had warm dinners, they aren't unique, they aren't rare, they aren't stylish, they are the same shit over and over, it burns my eyes to see these cars destroyed with such banal unoriginal modifications, but hey, i appreciate that to most people, these cars are considered cosmetically appealing, their style is extremely socially conformable, good for them. but to be honest, i'd much rather go out to the garage and see my car in their than most R32's getting around.

Quote from e2mustang :i know if u have a pos sure but he had a nice r32 he efed it all up

how is it ****ed up? a weekend swapping panels and it's straight as an arrow. There's no point fixing panels which are only going to get ****ed up again, race cars break all the time, come out with damage, battle scars etc. only difference between those cars and mine, is i don't have sponsors i need to represent by having a clean looking car at the start of each race, and i don't think i need to have a clean looking car to enjoy myself out there, so there's no need for me to fix the car between events.

my missiles in japan, well they were all pretty ****ed, even my first R32 over there, the rear end was wonky as ****. every now and then clean cars do get damaged heavily, but that's all part of the game, you wanna go balls to the wall, you have to expect you're going to get some damage, regardless of how good you are. If you're cashed up you get it fixed or reshell, if you don't give a shit you keep going.

Quote from e2mustang :excuse me sir but please do explaine what is good in F-ing up the cars like that?

what good is motorsport at all? what good is sport? what good is living at all? it's about having fun, if you don't think jumping over a blind crest at 150km/h and having the rear end come so close to a concrete wall it scrapes it on the way through is fun, or going up on your mates car and leaving your paint on his door, well clearly you haven't ****ing done it.

Quote from ACCAkut :A modern automatic box doesn't rely solely on a hydraulic unit, but uses a claw coupling to connect engine and gearbox more efficiently.

Blacksmokes gearbox uses a standalone controlling unit, guess they have more direct control over it, and can force that coupling to open via the pedal. Maybe it is even connected to the handbrake.

edit: 5G Tronic, that shoudl be the one (1,079 Nm torque rating lol)

pretty cool shit, would be interesting to drive, and if it was strong then it's a pretty good setup. wonder how much it cost him?

Quote from Scrabby :haha, you wouldn't say after all those wheel lifting in turns that the chassis might bend a bit

I thought it was using an automatic, maybe that's why the AMG stuff

Edit:
Yarp,
Gearbox, Modified Automatic Mercedes AMG E55 Gearbox

how does that work, has a clutch for kicks and handbrake or?

Quote from Klutch :So my stereo stopped turning on a few days ago, and since i don't really listen to music in the car much i got rid of everything, everything stereo related has been completely removed (Speakers/Amp/Deck/All wiring)

Neatened up all the wiring under the dash as the previous owner butchered it, Put on the new gearknob (Billet alluminium cylinderish style)

Seats are extremely heavy...buckets are on the too buy list!

the weird hues and horizontal stripes really give you a feeling of realism and exaggerated the detail :P

Quote from Scrabby :It's not the exact picture of the wheel but it's the same.

Yeh, the 8.5J is for upfront. I'm running allot of lock so a half inch smaller with a little lower ET and small spacer is way better then my 16x9 ET15 with 5mm spacer now. Occasionally hits something inside and want resolve that. Also 17'ers are a bit better for my setup atm

Love the new movies man

cheers dude, the rig's looking tough as these days mate.

a feel not enough time was spent on the fact that there is a bike called a handjob, most people really seemed to just skip over that rather astounding detail.

Quote from Matrixi :It's epic.

Is the HCR32 gone?

nah mate, looking more ghetto than ever, this is my streeter in Japan, both are keepers, my other cars just get used and abused, rarely last longer than a few months before they are parted out and sold off.

not me driving (lent it to some dude competing after he broke his mid-comp - i was judging the comp)

for anyone worried about going to Japan, or even Fukushima, please don't, it really isn't that dangerous, i have been back to Fukushima a few times since the nuclear issue once only weeks after it happened, and did more than enough research to be sure there was no danger. Fukushima needs tourism more than ever, and if any one who loves their motorsport was thinking of heading to Ebisu Circuit, it is still functioning as well as usual, in fact we had probably 100 foreigners at the last Drift Matsuri.
