Quote from samjh :NASCAR is probably no-go for JV. It would have been nice to see him succeed in it.

I think he'd be a choice fit for Le Mans and other GT prototype series, like ALMS or the Le Mans Series. His experience in F1 will probably be very beneficial to whichever team he drives for. NASCAR might not have been his style, but he's still a world-class driver.

I'd like to see JV in ALMS, or a similar series.

NASCAR has become too annoying for me to watch, and I started watching in 1988. It used to be more interesting, and now it just a variant of NFL coverage. Mostly commercials and I think the US announcers aren't the best, either. But then I am spoiled by US F1 announcers Varsha and Hobbs.

I wish I could get DTM and other motor sports here. Fox rules mostly, and that means mostly NASCAR and other crap.

I just have to figure out a car I want to use as a sub for an Audi Lemans Prototype in LFS. Can I put fenders on the BMW F1 car?

Quote from drift_addict :Are you interested in purchasing? No? Then hum on my balls and get the hell out of my thread? Savvy?

So I guess asking WHY you are selling this Momo wheel and why not on eBay will only get a similar creative response?

I already have one, myself. I just thought this last post of yours was a hoot.

Thanks, everyone. Sorry for the untimelyness (is that a word? it is now) and I will try to try an online race sometime soon.

LFS, even vs the AI, is just WAY too much fun even for hacks like me!

Quote from DragonCommando :What's a "good" lap time for blackwood, right now I get 1:32.22 on BL forward quite consistantly. (only played one or two races where I got that but I think the lines are pretty stuck in my head now)
Is there a thread or something with the expected average lap time for a racer on blackwood?

I'm getting better at Blackwood with my newly painted GTI. 1:44 on that track. After fiddleing with Window's setup and learning the new trick of moving the wheel while LFS loads. That trick keeps me from turning left at the start with my Logitech Momo wheel/pedal.

Anyway, while I have had LFS for almost two years, I have never done on-line. I was hoping to find someone who might care to help me get into that, albeit I only use this every two or three months, when I have time. I have no souped up setups or anything. Stock.
I did run the BMW F1 around Blackwood and it was a hoot, btw.

Quote from duke_toaster :W00t ... 19-17 against the Bills final. I nearly broke my mouse refreshing the live scoring (I can't get it on TV, I have freeview. All I wish is that instead of showing prima donnas diving real sport was shown.).

Tom Brady's next superbowl ring ... ETA Feb the 4th 2007. Not long to wait now for the next Vince Lombardi trophy.

Lol, I'm probably getting my hopes up. Oh well, I hope we get a kicker who isn't an unproven quantity.

Too funny. I have been watching Premiership games on Fox Sports Channel. Diving Diva's indeed!

I'll try and get some photos from the parade in Boston for ya.

That is a great helmet. Pats 19 Buffalo 17 4th Quarter. 6:15 remaining.
(I live a couple of towns over from Gillette Stadium.)

I'll have to look for the helmets in LFS. I need one for myself.

Oh, my goodness. I've had this for ages, and I still suck!
Well, just like the Papyrus sims, even though I blame it on the equipment.
:-)
Now if I can keep it from blanking out the screen in the middle of a turn...
See. There's that equipment thing again... :-)

I absolutely love LFS, and I've never turned a lap on-line!
LFS is Great!

There was a patch? I'm still lucky to do anything useful with 3 AI drivers! I'm getting better though...

Could this be a league of North Americans who race anyone awake at NA times?

To be honest, I don't get to play much any more.
But a winter league would be interesting.
For newbies, like me, please? Let's just see if we can wipe out each other and not get wiped out by the AI? (Not that I have anything against the AI.)

I'm still on a T1 wheel, and don't know much about LFS other than it can be fun. Saturdays or Sundays would be good. And we could work on a time, and any other time zone folks would be welcome if they want to stay up or get up at the designated time?

Short races? I don't even know how the Qualifying works...
Don't know how the online works, either, actually.

Anyone?

Hiya, everyone!

I'm in the US, and LFS is now my favorite Auto racing Sim!
So much so that I bought it at a really bad exchange rate! ;-)

I started with IndyCar and Nascar sims from Papyrus.

However, I still have a Thrustmaster Formula T1, and I just used my last replacement pedal spring! :-) This thing is ancient now! 10 years!

I need a replacement wheel/pedal combo but want to be sure it would be compatible with LFS. Sounds like the same old mechanical problems with the Logitec?

I've never experienced any force feedback, and you don't wanna know what I paid for this Thrustmaster! But it does still work, albeit not well. (I wish I had another spring for the brake pedal.)

Momo wheels I've heard of, but what is DFP?

If you have a recommendation, please let me know.

Feel free to email me at lfs@rabidwolf.com

Thanks,

I'm in need of a wheel but before I spend the big bugs on either a DFP or MOMO I just want to get something cheap to get a feel for the things compared to mouse/kb.

Have anyone tried this one before?

Quote from ColeusRattus :Thx

The part about setups I do infact know, I just compared it with the MSFF wheel using the very same (racing_1) setup. But you're right, I should've mentioned it.

And now, start posting reviews/game experiences too, as I am sure, people use other wheels and games too

I'm still using a Thrustmaster T1. Circa 1993. Really. It makes things a little iffy, as callibration isn't a science on that and WinXP! I'm also searching for a driving view out the windshield that doesn't waste time with dashboards but does have at least one rv-mirror.
But seriously, as a former Papyrus IndyCar/Nascar user, this is just a GREAT sim!
Perhaps someday I will try the online stuff. (I'm terrible)
Thanks,

I gave up and just purchased a Logitech Momo Racing wheel and after some confusion I think I have it set up correctly for LFS. It does take some getting used to the Force Feedback. Seems a little choppy to me. But at least I can do a lap or two!

I think that my 13-year old Thrustmaster T1 will be retired. It will take a while to get used to the FF, but I think it might help me keep off the walls and roof! Now if the thing lasts as long as the T1 and Logitech has decent customer service (Thrustmaster had sent me replacement springs years ago) perhaps I can bounce off walls in LFS for some time to come!
