What made CTRA and many other servers fun for me was was the rotating tracks and everyone driving the same class of car, it was never about points and badges for me.

I have a soft spot for XFG and also the XRT and these and other servers filled that spot very nicely.

I think overall less is more in LFS, less code, less stats, most importantly good admins who raise the standards of a server and who lead by example.
LFS is facing a tough time ATM .. back to basics Gents

Good luck with this endeavour

Quote from PMD9409 :3/6 = 50% ... That's even a fail over here in the states.

CTRA was nothing special at all, just overhyped. Just give me some decent TBO racing and I'll be happy.

From my experience it provided me with some memorable racing that I still remember ... happy days.

know I will get flamed but I dont care to be honest guys. I spend so many nice years with this game but apparently something went wrong at some point...

Why is It not nice now? why did you enjoy it then and and not now?.

I wish someone would run a server with a different track each day for the XFG /XRG much like it was with CTRA.... I really liked that.

Driving the boring GTI/BL circuit for 6+ years... still not boring, exciting as ever and I'm not joking,
I Don't think I've seen a bigger gulf between the crap that gets posted here and what LFS still represents .

Public racing is very healthy, jump in the water's lovely

I miss being healthy,LFS is still great the driving standards are better than it ever was in 2003/06, pick up racing is VERY healthy from the Redline and AA servers I 've observed and raced in over the last few months the racing is not worse ...its better than it ever was.

The 'not there to race' has never been as low.

Nostalgia is blinkered it only remembers the good times.

As I've said before patches are great but 'good' racers to share it is far far more important, its what makes drivers click ' join now'.

The good old days are today... if you actually enjoy LFS for what it is and stop worrying about what advances are coming up.

Nothing lives for ever, but LFS is far from dead from my observations
I'm normally a 'glass is half empty' type of guy but LFS came in a bigger glass

Hot lapping the same track over and over gets boring, racing the same track with good drivers NEVER gets boring. for me.
The car and track is an afterthought as long as everyone is driving the same car and you have good admin... thats LFS at its best for me.

Forget about stats, who did what and when, being a cool team, code thats tries to admin , lose the window dressing and get back to what made LFS great,( remember that?) and its still there... just

If the demo works for you , enjoy But you don't know what your missing and I'm not talking about more tracks or cars.

Quote from s01id :Take me for example. Like I said before, I don't play that often and demo satisfies my interests completely. I like LFS because of it's realistic physics, I don't care about how many cars on how many tracks I can drive. Sometimes I just feel I would like to race. And FBM on BW1 is all I need. Now, it's very difficult for a demo user who is completely satisfied by the demo to force himself to buy it (if he/she is not interested in S2 content). For me, the developers have of course made a good job but I don't think of them as gods who should have my wife, house and soul just because they have made the greatest piece of software humankind has ever known. Yes, I sound like an ****, but for me, LFS is a good game, a decent game, nothing more.

I mean, how many of you have bought WinRAR?

In the 70's, the only drugs were a pint of heavy and a wee half I heard Led Zeppelin,Queen, Bowie, Weather Report, Genesis, and many more bands at the Glasgow Apollo.

Code is important, but its a means to an end, for many it seems to be an end in itself, like hifi buffs who spend a fortune on equipment, but never listen to music.

Looking forward to the next patch.

Dowloaded both espxe and pcsx2 when I bought some second hand Final fantasy games last year at a car boot sale which when converted to Iso's played perfectly.

6 games for £10...lol

Quote from Uke :No it doesn't. I think many of these 'guitar aliens' that can shred faster than anything are not always very talented musicians. Sometimes their shredding is just continuosly going up and down scales and such. I'm not saying that all the shredders are talentless musicians but yeah..

I'm sure I explained this pretty badly becouse my native language isn't english but meh.

Edit: Guess where my nickname comes from : P

You explained it perfectly, great music talks to you without ever needing to 'shout'.

Good drivers will always be missed, its how you define 'good' that's interesting, as zeug mentioned fair, fun, then fast sound about right to me in the long run, where's a cab when you need it?

A great aspect of LFS is it teaches a lot more than just about how to go fast and win races.
