League 2024

No joke, lads. This is the real deal!

CESAV's League 2024 is kickstarting tomorrow, January 22nd, and running until June 24th.

81 drivers and 12 teams entered the fight for the championship on the former edition of the league, and we had a good time, remember?

We went all in for mods in 2023, so this year we are going to balance it a bit. We have curated some of the best mod cars in the library, and mixed them with our loved stock LFS cars to create a true "Now and Then" 18 round competition.

Don't miss out!

Warm-up rounds are over, get packed and ready for the league!

It was very pleasing to greet old and new colleagues on the track after celebrating the new year, and even more so when we started this time celebrating our 15th anniversary.

We held a couple of two-legged classic S2 combos in which Zesty showed again his skills at the wheel of the single seaters, and MAXXIS his consistency, which allowed him to win this pre-championship.

Completing the victory podium were Johneysvk, who recently signed for Master Race Car, and NJoan, a Formula Racing Team veteran who is coming on strong this year.

Two newcomers from Sweden (L. Rydh) and Finland (Ngottini) showed excellent skills also, promising to be in the fight for the 2024 League.

VIRTUAL SAFETY CAR - VSC

1. In the event of an incident where the field needs to be brought under control but not necessarily collected and controlled by the Safety car, Race Control may employ a “Virtual Safety Car” (VSC).

2. Standard VSC Speed will be 220 kph (137 mph).

At this point, drivers should ease off throttle and gently slow down the car, and watch out for any trouble in the track. Overtaking is not permitted from this moment on.

4. Next message will inform of “VSC Starting in 5 seconds” and a countdown shall start. When the timer reaches zero all drivers are expected to be at VSC speed.

b. Drivers exceeding VSC speed will be given warnings by the tracking system. The system will log the speed and time each occurrence, and the stewards will review.

c. Drivers are permitted to tyre warm during the VSC, provided it is safe to do so.

d. Pit entrance and exit will remain open at all times while the VSC is in operation, unless otherwise instructed by Race Control.

5. When the situation is resolved, Race Control will issue a message informing that the VSC will end shortly. All drivers should be prepared for the Green Flag to be waved at any time.

The qualifying system for this race has some special features:

You have 100 laps to qualify, but they are now grouped in batches of 5 laps. InSim will spectate you upon completion.

This means that you now have 20 attempts to achieve a qualifying time.

One attempt is made up of:

• 1 pit exit lap

• 1 warm-up lap

• 4 laps, the time of which will be averaged to obtain your qualifying time for the race. This will also determine your starting position in the race.

Voluntary or involuntary shortcutting will invalidate the current lap and ruin your qualifying attempt.

Good luck to all entrants!

2023 End of Season Cups
tangovalens
S3 licensed

Folks,

As usual, we will close the last quarter of the year with three different cups that we hope you will enjoy. The score obtained in each cup will be taken into account, together with the 2023 League and the GT Cup, for the final classification of the current season and the allocation of the racing numbers for the next one.

CUP DESCRIPTIONS AND SPECIFIC RULES

FORMULAS CUP (September 11th)

Setup - The same tyre compound must be used on all four wheels in both qualifying and the race. R2/R1 or similar combinations are not permitted.

Registration - 3 lap average

Pre-race Qualifying - Hotlap.

Race - Approximately 50 minutes.

Mandatory pit stops - One stop.

Pit stop rules

Drivers must refuel during the pit stop. The amount of fuel is to be chosen by each driver (minimum 1%).

The change of tyre compound is also mandatory, and the new set of tyres must be different to the one being replaced. For example, if you have started with an R2 set, this cannot be used again after the pit stop and you must finish the race with R3, R4 or even R1... the choice is free.

RALLYCROSS AFICIONADO CUP (September 18th)

Setup - No restrictions.

Registration - 1 lap

Pre-race qualifying - 10 minutes

Race - Approximately 50 minutes.

Mandatory pit stops - Two pit stops.

Pit stop rules

The pit lane will be closed for the first 2 laps, and also during the last 2 laps. Drivers are allowed to do pit stop service for a damaged car during these periods, but will not comply with any of the mandatory pit stops in doing so.

Consecutive pit stops are not permitted. After completing a mandatory pit stop, drivers will have to complete one full lap (crossing the finish line at least once) before they are allowed to pit again. We suggest planning a strategy in advance inorder to comply with this requirement.

TURISMO CUP (September 25th)

Setup - No restrictions.

Pre-race Qualifying - 10 minutes.

Race - Approximately 50 minutes.

Mandatory Pit Stops - These will be indicated on each race sign-up sheet. Normally one, but may be two or none at all.

Pit Stop Requirements - None.

CESAV is proud to announce the upcoming Live for Speed’s Rockingham500, the legendary 500 miles of Rockingham.

As you may know, the Rockingham500 was an attempt to establish the CART oval track racing in Europe, and two successful editions of this event were held in 2001 and 2002. However, 2003 saw the CART league filing for bankruptcy and the long-awaited race that year never took place...

Now, 20 years later, thanks to the recreation of the Rockingham Motor Speedway by Live for Speed and the support from the LFS developers, we can bring this event back to life in the virtual arena.

LEAGUE 2023 ROUND 16/16

And the league came to an end!

That last round was to leave few surprises in the final standings. MAXXIS had few options to take the lead from NeoN, and Laio Fndz had secured the third place in the championship. So everything was set for other drivers to shine in a classic combo: FOX at Westhill.

They did not disappoint. MRc's Zesty made it clear already in qualifying that he was going for it. He took pole position with a great mark that he even improved on in the race, getting the fastest lap.

Zesty's display did not end there, as he took the victory after leading the race from the first lap to the end. P2 was for 69 Mugrilo, and P3 was for B2R Ayoub_MaRoC.

Congratulations to the podium winners, and many thanks to the 81 drivers who participated in this league!

GT CUP Round 5/5

The GT Cup is finally over, and it couldn't have been better for Furtive Racing's leader Hernán Quinteros, who managed to win the Cup with an extraordinary hat-trick in this last round.

Quinteros took Pole, fastest lap and P1, and completed this extraordinary feat he crossed the finish line 23 seconds ahead of MAXXIS who took P2, closely followed by Laio Fndz, who won P3.

NeoN, who was fighting for third place in the Cup standings, didn't take any risks and finished in
P5, enough to secure the bronze prize.

Congrats to the podium winners, and to the first champions of 2023:

LEAGUE 2023 ROUND 15/16

It's not every day we see a Nascar style race, and the day came with an American classic. Huge, roaring and with tyres about to catch fire, that was the SDWIMP67!

On this date we received the visit of 6 French drivers, a top troupe led by Tomfuel, King of Ice, Derinus and Pigeon, from GUM Garage, followed by French Street Racers' System, and the independent Hawkeye.

It was clear since the qualifying that our colleagues were taking the race very seriously, and King of Ice took a not-so-easy Pole Position.

However, the race tested our tyre temperature management skills and in that regard it was Rayden who proved to be the man to beat, leading 53 of the 60 laps until he eventually took P1.

P2 and fastest lap was for Deparment of Defense's Jimmy, a newcomer who showed a great skill.

And there was more, and it came from the lower ranks. There, after a hesitant start in P17, System droped to P22, but he then steadly climbed to the top, and won P3 after managing to even lead 5 laps. Simply brilliant!

Congratulations to the podium winners, and hope see you in two weeks for this league's finale in Westhill with the FOX!

LEAGUE 2023 ROUND 14/16

The Kyoto National is one of my favourites, I confess, and we were expecting to see a battle between NeoN, and MAXXIS and Laio Fndz, the three best drivers of this championship fighting for the final victory. However, in the qualifying sessions, the Born to Race drivers, Ayoub Maroc and TwinCam, made it clear that they had come to compete for the podium, and boy did they do it!

Ayoub got an extraordinary Pole, with a time of 1:36.860, almost the same one that earned him the fastest lap in the race, where he led with an amazing pace that only his teammate TwinCam could follow. They got P1 and P2 more than 23 seconds ahead of MAXXIS, who had to settle for a P3 that keeps him still in the fight for the title.

Congratulations to the podium winners, and see you next week in Rockingham Oval!
