Quote from Shotglass :most importantly first person will actually be useable on pc

I'm playing the campaign from the start in FPV (without aim assist), just done the 2nd lester mission with Michael, no problems so far, actually enjoying it more than ever. Have fun playing the waiting game.

PS: Input lag in GTA is aparently down to the engine they use and the animations of the character models. Only now in FPV it shows more than ever. I don't think that will be any different on PC. First person view feels very different than any other game i've played so far in FPV. Nothing you won't get used to after half an hour of playing tho... FPV is a complete game changer in GTA and Rockstar did an amazing job with it.

Waiting for the proper next-gen version when it comes out for PC.

Like sinbad said, you'll probably need quite a good PC to have significant visual improvements over the xbone/ps4 versions. It looks very nice already on the "shitty" consoles...

Have fun waiting for the end of january... :P

PS: PC MASTER RACE! Fuck yeah!

Anyone got it for Xbone or PS4?

It's a very different experience in first person view. Beside the fact everything looks A LOT more beautiful now, the first person view really makes it so much more awesome!

Two of these for 150 swiss francs:

Elac EL 110 II. 25 years old, german quality, awesome sound.

I've had the same model since i was ten years old. Recently i've got some Audio Pro Diamond something home cinema speakers for free from my brother. They sound not bad, but very clinical, and they are UGLY!

Still i thought i would prefer them somehow... so gave my old ELAC to a friend for free. Later on, everytime i would visit that friends place, i was regretting giving them away, they sound so much nicer (not exactly better, but not as tiring to the ears). So two days ago i saw them pop up on an auction site and couldn't resist!

And here's a bonus pic:

Its my money so I will buy whatever I like, thing is these cars will only go up in value as they are getting rarer & rarer in this condition. This wont be my daily drive as I have 2 other cars that are my daily drivers (2001 Accord Type R & 2002 Accord 2.0 SE). I have already done the Porsche thing having owned a 968 CS & I wont fit in a Lotus elise or a VX220 there too small. As for skylines meh I don't want to go drifting or streetracing.

I remember your 968 CS! That was a nice car.

I just looked and the Lotus Carlton goes for 55'000 swiss francs here... with roughly the same miles as yours. I guess it's an investment indeed.

Have fun with the car!

I have always enjoyed the same type of driving. Trust me, i've never had a bigger smile on my face as in the VX, they can be playful, even with semi slicks. You should try one someday (or an elise). Grin from ear to ear is an understatement.

But yeah, i understand the flair of old cars... it's just... 30k, 4 door saloon... tuned OPEL OMEGA... 30k!!! LOL!

PS: The skyline makes sense to me. It's not a tuned Opel Omega... (really don't get what's so special about it besides the power) :P

Yeah that is all fine and dandy, until we get to the point of it costing 30k pounds. Would you agree that is a shitload of money?

I mean, it's an old 4door saloon, with a little over 5s 0-60... i mean, you can buy a golf R and that will be faster, probably handles better too, and is less than 30k new with 0 miles and warranty... or an S3, RS3? M3? So many options for less money, more reliable, faster, better handling... I just don't get why you would instead pay 30k for a 25 year old saloon? Unless like i say it's your dream car for some reason and will put a bigger smile on your face than anything else... but still, 30k for a 25 year old saloon... it's beyond my comprehension i guess.

For that money you could get a honda powered elise, or a Stage 4 VX... have you driven an elise with good power and decent suspension setup?? I am not sure you would take a lotus omega over that in direct comparison...

My VX cost way LESS than 30k, does 0-60 in 4.2s, 0-160 in roughly 15s. Has all upgrades you could wish for on that car (intercooler, oil cooler, watercooler, lotus abs, lotus seats, big brakes, better suspension, lighter wheels, etc, etc, etc.)... oh, and it had 26'000km when i bought it. Why would i want a 25 year old saloon that's slower (and costs a lot more) than a golf R instead?

^ Yes, i understand that actually.

I had a 944 turbo from 1990. I now own a car that is ten years old.

I would love to get another 944 turbo, but they cost almost 30k now (swiss francs), that is, if you can find one in good shape.

I paid 15k for mine seven years ago. So today it's double the price, with double the mileage... 30k for a 25 year old car. If i'd be rich i'd buy one again, but realistically i can get SO MUCH MORE car for 30k if i buy something that isn't unrealistically overpriced. And i'm talking swiss francs, 30k in british pounds is a lot more than that.

I mean come on... what is so special about that Lotus Carlton? It has a good ammount of power, nice handling(?), and...? Same as with the 944 turbo... you can get a lot more "car" for that money instead of an old Opel Omega with some power...

If it's your dream car and it'll make you happy like nothing else would, then it's probably worth it, but otherwise... complete waste of money IMHO.

Quote from Matrixi :The type of anti-social issue that you're describing, is pretty much always the result of poor parenting. Adults aren't really any more anti-social than they were before all this technology came around. I still greet and talk to people IRL just the same as when cell phones were the size and weight of bricks.

But kids and teenagers that get all the toys and gadgets from their parents, and use them with no limits? Sure, that kind of thing is obviously going to have an effect on their social skills and life behaviour. It's not the technology that should be blamed here, it is the care-free parenting of the modern day.

Sorry to hear about your ex.

See, i am not so sure about this. Media and marketing teaches most people otherwise.

A few years ago when people still had sony erricsson phones and black berries... phones that you couldn't conveniently use to access the internet... i remember how people standing in line at the airports used to talk to each other (flew to other countries quite a bit for work). Then about three or four years ago it started... you saw 95% of the people waiting in line staring at their smart phones, totally absorbed.
In September i went to pick up my car from repair, i took the bus... You know how in some busses a few seats in the front face backwards? I sat in one of those, and guess what... the bus was full, but none of the people made eye contact with me the entire ride (i was facing them), they all were too busy looking into their smart phones.

This is normal today... you can't tell me all those people had bad parenting. It's todays society, facebook, always connected, etc. It's a fact people who are most active on facebook are in danger of getting lonely and depressed, a fact, not a myth.

Anyway, i guess it's really far off topic, so my appologies.

To be honest, i was always cynic like this, i just restrained myself from showing it i guess. Recent life events have brought me to the point where i don't care anymore and tell it into peoples faces what i think (my ex partner lied to me about pregnancy, etc... i guess you could see that as a "bad day"). I'm still nice most of the time tho and people i talk to IRL would tell you i'm a pleasant person to have a conversation with.

Again, not trying to attack you Toni, just saying what i really think of todays society burried in social media, smart phones and materialism, and yes, i believe this is a new trend since a few years and indeed turns people into anti-social zombies.

We're offtopic in a "show off" thread, so i think it's not the end of the world to discuss this here.

Not really, just telling what i honestly think. People get more and more isolated and don't know anymore how to interact socially. Has nothing to do with having a bad day. But i know it's stupid to write this... usually people don't like to be told the ugly truth.

Actually had a conversation with the lady at the cash register in a gas station yesterday about this. She complained how she has to force her two kids off of their mobile phone screens every day to have a possibility to spend at least 15 min talking to them, if she wouldn't do that the only interaction would be hello and goodbye in the morning and evening.

Another conversation with a turkish guy who went back home to his country for holidays recently. He said he expected in their culture they would still be very social and talk to each other when going out, but things would have obviously changed nowadays, as the normal thing he encountered back in his country now would be teenagers sitting at the table in the club burrying their faces in their mobile phones instead of talking to each other.

You may laugh now, i may exaggerate, but just wait a few more years until most people are left lonely and isolated behind their screens.

Enjoy your smart watches controling your smart phones and shit...

(it's all tongue in cheek with a bit of truth behind it... don't get offended because i attacked your cosy "bubble")

Quote from Matrixi :Yeah, screw smartphones too. Everyone should just get a REAL phone that only does phonecalls and SMS.

Yeah, that's what we ultimately should do and would be off much better. Maybe we'd even learn again to say hi and talk to strangers on the street... but instead we'll all be zombies completely absorbed by our "gadgets". What a ****ed up society. I'll see myself out...

Yes that is the genuine mileage backed up by a F.S.H.

Dear lord... 30k???

You could pick up so many better (more reliable, newer) cars for that money! Jesus fu**ing christ...

How about a nice 911, or an elise, or a vx220, or.... so many more choices. Why would you spend that money on an old overpowered saloon car??? Excuse my ignorance...

Well, it has been like this for a few years with xbox360 and ps3. DLC is nothing new, their strategies are nothing new... people voted with their wallets a few years ago and bought this DLC marketing scheme... they only gave the green light to the industry by doing that. From a marketing persepective, it's really genius.

I remember exactly how i said back when it started: "Are they serious? Who is gonna be stupid enough to pay for these things???"... then people started buying DLC and accepted it as the new reality.

I'm already talking about the next step... convince people to buy shit games that aren't actually any good or fun to play. Destiny, Watchdogs, this driveclub thing... basically 95% of the "next gen" games are garbage, but people still buy them and then try to justify their wasted money by defending those shit games.

I understand those marketing guys... if you can ass-rape all these sheep and milk their wallets, hell, i would do it too if i were in their position!!

I'm gonna be the negative guy here again...

What did convince you to buy the game? It was clear before release it's not gonna be very good. Mediocre arcade racer. People who bought it are saying it's "meh", including the graphics and gameplay...

I guess i'm just fed up with this new console deal... make new consoles that have slightly better hardware, rave about 1080p and 60fps, sell mediocre shit games because people will buy anything since they are so starved of games that are actually fun to play instead of hyped up shiny turds that aren't even that impressive graphics wise if you take a closer look.

I almost bought Forza Horizon 2. But it's just a shiny new Forza Horizon... i've played the demo, it's fun for a few minutes, but it's exactly Forza Horizon... just more shiny and now you can race through fields... wow...

The only game that looks decent is the new alien game because it seems they put some love and details into it.

There's good games to come in the future, but half of them will be overhyped and not live up to the expectations... some will be decent.

Should i buy all their shitty games because there's nothing good to play? Fuck no. But you go ahead and enjoy your driveclub... :P

Console gaming (or gaming in general) is in a sad state. In a few years games will be even more shitty, and they'll make us pay for the demo, then the 30% of the full game, and THEN the rest of the game in form of DLC, and it will suck and be no fun to play after two hours...

People found halfway finished DLC hidden on the destiny discs, it's accessible in the game through a simple glitch. There's a season pass for The Evil Within on the xbox marketplace, the game isn't even out yet.

Maybe i'm negative and sarcastic... but it's sad to see people throw their money at these money hungry companies, just because they are bored out of their mind and will buy any shitty games to distract themselves from the fact there's almost no good games to play and their new "next gen" consoles are collecting dust.

I'm still enjoying Dark Souls 2. started playing Bioshock Infinite again... my xbox one is collecting dust.

But hey... 1080p, 1080p, 1080p!!!!!! :P

Remember Danowat? He's an xbox guy. He's still in my friends list... i see his "activities" and he gets every single new game that comes out, even the arcade ones.... he must be bored out of his mind. Shadow of mordor, destiny, watchdogs, all of them... and he plays them for a day or two and then the next one, never to return again. 60 bucks for 2 days of mediocre fun... better than to be bored i guess...
