What is this? Some sort of 'used to race' racers meet up thread? Big grin
I don't even lurk on this forum anymore. My last visit must be months ago. I might dust of my wheel at Christmas / New year time and try a race or two - and then give up because of my crapness.

I liked the film, still enjoyable to watch as a decent action movie.

However, I do agree that it is too samey as the originals and borrows too heavily.

1. Lonely kid from a desert planet - check.
2. Dark masked baddie - check.
3. Cloaked mysterious dark lord - check.
4. Death Star - check.
5. Trench run finale - check (waaaaaaay too similar).

So yeah, I still enjoyed the movie, but they had so much more scope for originality. The old skool vibe definitely worked to bring the film back to what we all enjoy, I just wished they had at least not re-used a death star and trench run....I mean really....really.

Nice that they won't have adverts. I hate advertising with a passion, so good on Channel 4.

Quote from thezero :S1 - 6 cars, 3 tracks
S1 to S2 - 11 cars, 3 tracks
S2 to S3 - 1 track + the same ol' "we're working on more, but can't promise anything"

Yeah, I think I'll wait. I'm sorry guys, but this doesn't look very promising. I know that I should probably be happy that we got anything at all, but I just can't get my head around this.

Honestly, even though I sort of gave up with LFS, I knew that I would return if S3 was ever released. But now, I'm not so sure anymore. S3 is here and I'm more disappointed than ever.

Admittedly, I did have a vaguely similar thought when I saw the release yesterday. However, I took it more as a positive thing. S1, S2 and S3 have always been content based, so I saw Rockingham as the start of S3 content, and certainly not the last. I look forward to the rest of the S3 content. Scawen has also explained in the past, that he does not want to release certain vehicles until he has nailed the all-important tyre phyiscs. The VWS is not released due to this too I bet. So, my prediction is this. Scawen has stated he is getting back to tyre phyiscs. If and when that is sufficiently modelled, I'd like to hope that plenty more content follows it....like a LOT of content! Wink

The LFS team has to make money at the end of the day, and rolling out Rockingham gives them the finance to continue with the project. Kudos to such a great development from such a small team. Playing a few races last night reminded me how much I still enjoy racing in LFS. I know its not perfect and I'll probably only race for a few weeks around Christmas. I'm happy to spend my 12quid and enjoy a new track for now, and hope for the future big stuff.

Scawen,

Yay, an update Big grin

I've tried with two different accounts without success to buy an S3 upgrade using debit or credit card. I'm getting the error as show in the screen shot.

I still visit here everyday. Wish i could be motivated to race everyday as well. Nice to see so many old faces still around though. Wave

I'm a bit late, but still lurking too. I did go to dSRC web page yesterday out of curiosity. Home page is still up. Tilt

I still race occasionally on a local server with my bro (mr_spoon), but I haven't really bothered to try and race on busier servers, normally because the racing combo's don't take my fancy.

I don't have a good enough connection to host races, but I'd be keen to race now and again with the 'old skool' brigade. As long as we are all slow together it's more fun Smile Eza is still an alien no-doubt, but I'm sure Bladerunner, Griv and I can provide the entertaining banger racing at the back!

This probably isn't a bug as such. However, the new larger grass sprites are jutting into/through the car models. So if you drive in-car view then you can see grass where the pedals are. Seems to happen on all cars I've driven.

Scary light and scary fast. Very easy to blast the downhills. I think I need to invest in some pads before I hit a tree at warp speed.

Cool bike. I'm picking up my first MTB tomorrow hopefully. What does that bike weigh?

Um, dunno the weight, I've never been too fussy about these things. I always figure if I tried to make a bike really light weight then it will be too easy to break and be ridiculously expensive too. I'm not a heavy rider, I just prefer durability over superlight equipment.

The Giant's are nice. I used to ride a Blur LT but sold it, so I actually wanted to try something totally different. But ease of availability and support in Malaysia made me stick with something relatively common here. Everyone seems to have a Bronson, so I thought I would just join in! 27.5in wheels and Carbon will be new for me, so I'm looking forward to trying that.

Clean-ish desktop on my S3. Had it a while now, but haven't cracked it yet. I'll wait for Jelly Bean upgrade, then see about cracking it - primarily to get rid of all the bloatware.

Maybe not the right thread to ask this....but it does apply to Forza 4...

I didn't see an Xbox 360 thread after a quick glance thought the Hardware forums.

I'm in Malaysia, and 'chipped' Xbox 360s are the norm over here. So, I have a chipped Xbox, meaning I can buy local copies. I did see about getting non-chipped, but it is more unusual.

Anyway, I assume I am totally screwed when it comes to putting my Xbox 360 online and getting content updates?

Doyal,

An air shock shouldn't really loose too much pressure due to riding, albeit that you did do quite a long ride.

Having said that, I know that I've had the same rear shock (Fox RP23) for 5 years now, which I set to my required pressure....and I leave it. I maybe check it every 3-6 months or something.

It could loose pressure if you pump it up inside your house, then go out and ride in freezing UK temperature.

If I was you, I would pump it up again and see if it holds. If it is a new shock, it might just be bedding in.

I'm pretty sure I could just end this thread by putting this link:

/close thread...

However, I would then loose my primary reason for visiting LFS forum these days....checking for random and funny stuff in the off-topic section

Quote from Fonnybone :Oh man, Scawen. What to say...

SNIP, SNIP, SNIP...

Until then, Scawen, Victor, oh and Eric (we barely knew ya), i wish you a happy christmas and a happy new year. Take a
break from the stresses of LFS, go drift your cars in the snow while NOT visualising the tire and what it must be doing
(im talking to you Scawen...lol) and let the ingrate kids complain, they always will.

+1

As much as I would love to be playing a patch right now I cannot really complain. I rarely play computer games due to work, but when I get a chance on my holidays I still dabble in LFS and enjoy it. I'm not as fast as I used to be, but it's still a good laugh.

My mind boggles at the complexities of the latest tyre model. As Fonnybone says, I can only hope that Scawen finds a model that he is happy with and can release to us all to play with soon

+1 for Sennheiser

I just bought Sennheiser CX350 in ear headphones.

I had normal Ipod headphones, then Sennheiser MX550 before, but these CX350s are so much better. I think mostly because they come with rubber-fittings with give a better fit in your ear. I was most impressed by the increase in bass levels, from such small headphones!
