Primitive darkroom techniques only in photoshop, however I admit to doing some sharpening on these.

Its actually brilliant fun, you get some great images and I've found that my keeper rate was a lot higher than usual because I was taking much more care when taking each photo.

I got it for this: MD Mount conversion for Canon EOS cameras. Hopefully I'll have that by the end of the week.

A few people I talked to said it works pretty well. Not perfect of course.

DWB, I'm pretty sure you just sold me on fixing my K1000 or a used Pentax DSLR. for $50 that is effing fantastic.

Talking of which. Now when the US dollar is rightfully in the ditch again, is there any place that would ship Nikon lenses from US to Europe? KEH.Com will,they have a sweet selection of used and like new stuff. Though they won't (because of Canon and Nikon) Ship new Canon or Nikon stuff.

I buy most of my gear from them.

I haven't had any trouble with my two Fuji digitals.

Though I've never used that model, it has quite the zoom for a point and shoot. Check some reviews on it and see if its your camera or it happens o other people.

Nice deal on that, I payed $19 for this one,which is still a steal. Got all the manuals, box, strap, flash, case for the flash etc. Caught it at an estate sale.

They are great cameras, I don't like it as much as my older XG-1's and 7's though. Mostly because of the feel. I use it more though, it is essentially brand new, no little weird quirks and jimmying with switches like the others.

I've smoked for 15 years, until tomorrow, hopefully.

It will be my first day on the patch, my "quit day" according to this program I'm going to try.

Aside from the obvious health issues, smoking is god damn expensive. I currently pay between $9-10 per pack and get at least one each day.

That $3500-4000 grand I could really use.

Oh and not dying and being alive for my kids.

But I do love smoking. So this is going to be tough.

I had an awkward moment about a year or so ago.

I always hang out at the one pub in my area. A friend popped in and said his new girlfriend was coming and not be a jerk. (I tend to be an ass to people for my own amusement) I agreed.

So I'm outside smoking and this girl, we will say she was er, bigger than any girl I would personally date walks up and gets all excited and starts talking to me "Oh my goood hi Matt how have you been blah blah blah"

I answered and in a very confused manner, wondering who the hell that was. So my friends goes to introduce us, and she goes: " I know him we dated right after I got out of high school"

Then my brain chopped fifty pounds off her, and I knew who it was. Than I told her I had no clue who she was when she came up. She was not happy. Neither was my friend.

It was awkward on many levels. I still think its funny too this day. I still make it a point to remind my friend I banged his girlfriend.

I also frequent the digital-photography-school forum, but I don't keep up too much there. I'm addicted to forums and I have too many to keep up with them all.

I just joined there like a month ago. I used the same username. I always do, ha. Same here, I'm trying to cut back on my forum usage. Eats up a lot of time.

Also random crap of my huge wife from the other day.

I can't recommend this bit enough: Get a cheap point and shoot that allows manual settings. Mess with them, learn them.

Don't spend hundreds on a dslr and shoot in auto, when you could take pictures juat as good with a point and shoot.

And I agree with what every one is saying. Go to a real camera shop and they will probably let you test them out. Get a feel for each one, see how you like going through the menus etc etc. You will find something in your budget you will love.

All the major brands offer great products. Don't forget to check used. My Fuji S1 6mp can take pictures just as good as any new dslr. If you can snag a great dealon an older dslr outfit with a few lenses for the same price as a newer body it is something to seriously consider.

On a side note, mrodgers, do you post on thephotoforum too? I swear I've seen that same username.

I haven't posted here in a while, there has been some nice additions to this thread, and more great stuff from the same guys.

I put down the digital the past week. And gave kodak bw400cn a shot on an old camera.

It was actually my dads, and it took pictures of me as a baby, so he gave it to me to take pictures of my upcoming twins.

It's a Minolta XG-1n cr. 1982. And it is a blast. Much more work than digital, but more rewarding to me and more fun. Here are a couple shots.
