Testing for next year going on at Michigan today, I'm sure adding MORE aero bits to the cars is going to solve all the dirty air problems they already have. Seriously, how stupid are the people making these decisions?

Quote from Rappa Z :For those who don't know, the ChampCar name was apparently purchased by Mark Plourde. He continues to update the series website with results from races that may or may not have taken place in another dimension.

He's either completely delusional or just taking a piss.

This is hilarious.

Interesting, I believe that was Hebing in front of him and you can clearly see Ward step back when the 45 first comes by. Why did he step forward again in front of Tony? Shocking that anyone actually believe Tony saw him up there and purposefully aimed for him.

Obviously feel bad for the family of the Ward but I also feel terrible for Stewart for having to deal with this, as well as the track. They had really been doing well the past couple years and it sounds like this incident has brought plenty of negative attention to them. They already canceled a race on Wednesday and who knows if they race next weekend.

How many more years does Roush really have in Nascar? That whole operation is falling apart.

Will never understand why people don't like Pocono, seems like an interesting race almost every year, and the shorter length is perfect to me as far as race time goes. Race started a little after 1 and we were on the highway headed home by 4:30 last night.

Once the rear stepped out that far, didn't look like he had much of a chance to save it.

Quote from PMD9409 :You'd be crazy to think it was just Harvick's run, and Gordon taking it a bit easy.

Nascar orders to make a close exciting finish?

I don't understand what he was waiting for, but I have to imagine even if there was one more lap, Harvick destroyed his tires just catching Gordon on that last lap. Still, wish he would have gone for it sooner and seen if he could get by the 24.

Watching the doge car avoid that Brad K spin/pileup was the most exciting part of the Nascar season so far. I'm pretty sure an audible gasp could be heard at my place as we all held our breath and then we erupted into cheers when he made it through clean. Wow.

Quote from Mustangman759 :Yea it is quite bumpy, but I don't see that happening without a full repave tbh. Might as well get it done in one shot.
And.. well done by Sam Hornish Jr. great drive I honestly thought he would have got a top ten if he did not get loose that one time.

Repaving the turns would ruin the great racing that has been happening at that track recently, the worn out pavement is what we need at more tracks.

Leave the corners how they are, but they need to pace the backstretch at that track.

That was very helpful, thanks. I was actually wondering if we were allowed to bring food with us, since we'll be there all day we'll definitely bring some snacks with us. What about drinks/beer?

It looks like the grandstands are pretty limited at Winton so we're just going to do general admission and move around during the day. It would be nice to do a full race weekend but since we'll only be in Australia for 10 days, we only have so much time to devote to racing.

I'm going to be in Australia in a couple weeks and plan on going to Winton on Sunday for the V8 Supercar race, any info you Aussies could give me for a first timer over there? Been to plenty of races over here in the States, just kind of wondering if there's anything I should make sure I do/see around the track on race day. Can't wait to finally see a Supercar race in person.

Quote from Mustangman759 :Fox sports 1 ticker is a pile of junk. Get it off my screen
https://twitter.com/jamesbuescher/status/434865257312288768

Am I correct to assume we're going to be stuck with this for all of the FOX races in the beginning of the year? How did anyone ever think that was better than the old ticker on top of the screen? Disgusting.

I hope NASCAR never retires a number, I don't care who/what does something great in it. Its just not how the sport works and it doesn't have to try and pretend its like other stick and ball sports by retiring numbers.

Big time fail. Would be one thing if the Cup race was Saturday night, could see a lot of drivers go check out the other series' race since they'd be so close by which would be cool. But going head to head like that on a Sunday, doesn't make much sense to me.

Interesting that the Nascar and F1 races in Texas are both on the same day in 2014.

Are there stats somewhere for green flag passes for the whole year? Lead changes don't necessarily mean more passing/better racing throughout the field.

I wish more of the older Cup guys would "retire" to the truck series when their options start running out for Cup. Would be an interesting dynamic between the vets and the kids coming up and I'm sure they could teach them a thing or two, plus you'd still get to watch some of your favorite drivers fairly often throughout the season. Didn't Labonte say he wasn't opposed to racing a truck? Hope he finds a ride down there.

I pretty much just watch the trucks and Cup races at this point. Nationwide was fairly boring for most of the year. Probably would have paid more attention of Regan Smith had stayed in the running, but once he was out it just felt like Dillon was destined to win it one way or the other.

Don't know if its the shorter races or what but the trucks put on an entertaining show more often than the other two series it seems.

Bubba Wallace got taken out by some Frewaldt guy in Truck practice and ran up to his car and smacked him a couple times. Good for him. Never even heard of this guy before, what's he doing out there if he can't even make it through practice without wrecking someone else's truck?

Quote from Mr. Kninja :Though I can't help but wonder how things will go at SHR, they're not the hottest team either. I feel like there were probably better options for him. Especially since SHR went to 3 teams and started running poorly, you have to think that going to 4 will have a similar impact.

I have a feeling SHR could be very bad next year with 4 teams, don't understand why they tried to grow so quickly. They do have 3 pretty good drivers though, have to think 2 out of 3 should still have a shot at making the Chase if Newman pulled it off this year.

I hate how Harvick tried to apologize for what he said after the race Saturday. That's exactly what everyone thinks about the Dillons anyway, I realize he has to try to keep things civil while he still finishes the season with RCR, but it doesn't shock me that's why he left the team.

I have a feeling Truex won't be back with MWR next year as you have to assume sponsorship will be hard to find.

Truex to the 78 maybe? I could get on board with that.
