Ok, here is the link to The Zone - a 30 min long video dedicated to the early days of LFS. All credits to the original maker, I'm simply making a link.

Download - 160MB Will stay as long as bandwidth doesn't go crazy...

Quote from rich uk :And Mr.X's 30 minute video of lfs including drag racing, loud sound systems and racing incidents (link anyone?)

Was going to say that. I'm making a link now, as it is the most memorable video to date and shows many of the things talked about in this thread.

Stated playing myself @ version 0.1B, though I'm haven't been very active the past few months. Trying to change that.

Well, i placed my order on the 29th and received it today, using the cheaper shipping method. I didn't mind waiting a little while. Very pleased with them so far, high quality items

As soon as I got my wheel, a DFP, I always used LFB, I didn't put any other thought to it. Just natural when you only have two pedals.

Quote from whitey6272 :Ok i have made a partition, and now want to format the C drive, how exactly do i do it? do i need to boot from CD if so what key do i tap on boot-up i've tried F5 but thats jus how to get in safe mode etc.

You want to boot off your install cd. You need to make sure the boot order is set correctly in the bios so that it boots off the cd before looking at the hard drive. It will then ask you to press any key to boot off the cd...

Quote from _rod_ :Someone metioned that your upgrades are free till s3 comes out, but inst it like this: when you pay for s2/s3 you will be paying for more content and not upgrades, since a s1 user can use s2 but with s1 cars/tracks? Did i miss something bout this?

Quite correct. You are paying for more content.

Quote from Schooner :You entered during the playing of the national anthem.

Good one lol

The only problem now is I have no idea what caused this to happen

Quote from DEVIL 007 :Hi kel64,
I think you have corrupted files again thats why the LFS cant use them and you might get that strange error as well.

Try re-download later again.

An idea:

- do you have nFORCE4 chipset and installed Firewall management software from NVIDIA?
- do you run any firewall software?
- overclocked system?

Nforce 2 system here. Yes, I am overclocked, but I have been for over a year now, very stable.

Ok, new version is fine. So, I overwrote the Pic folder. No Change. Overwrote DDS folder. No Change.

So, not sure. Seems I will have to port over to a new install

Quote from thisnameistaken :Looks like you have some mods installed - does it do this with a "vanilla" installation of LFS? I'd try a new installation, then add the mods one by one and see which one is the culprit.

I have Ghost mod, plus used other texture mods. Come to think of it, I did install the 'Real Relectins Mod' recently. This is the first time since installing it that i have played.

Anyway, I am redownloading and going to replace the files that seem to have the problem.

I just joined a server and in every car, the driver is standing up illepall
Just exited the game and joined again, same happens.

I have now just noticed some errors during startup, seems there may be something wrong with some files...

Quote from tristancliffe :It would appear the fracture occured due to a small radius and resulting stress raiser on the back of the pedal, where the 'pad' meets the 'arm'. This occurs at the area of smallest cross section (the 'drillings' in the pad) allowing a greater local strain, which leads to failure by fatigue.

Or perhaps you're just stamping on them too hard?

I dont think I am, but then maybe I am not the best person to judge that

For one, I am not impressed, at least with their wheels range. Yesterday, a corner of the acceleration pedal just come off, just using it as normal.

The piece that come off...

I didn't realise the pedals were so dusty

Shown together...

The exact same bit fell off with my last DFP after a few months. Sure, it doesn't affect the usage too much, but its not something I expect to happen.
To add to that, the reason I moved to the DFP in the first place was because of a lack of build quality in the MOMO. With this wheel, the plastic around the desk mounting broke off, meaning it could not be mounted to the desk and was effectively useless. This happened twice before I asked for a refund.
I would also like to add, I am not exactly using these in a particularly tough way, though they do get a fair bit of use.

Has this happened to anybody else on their DFP? Seems a bit of a concidence to happen twice

I noticed the XFG is now at 115BHP, while it was at 116BHP before. Presumably to readdress the balance between itself and the XRT.
