Race statistics / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated later this week)

This week we had one of the very rare actual real life combos - the Formula BMW was raced in Rockingham circuit, allthough it will be closed soon if already hasn't. Still - this was the chance to enjoy a bit more realistic racing and a total of 17 drivers used it. It was the 10th RTFR event in row with attendance higher than all time average.

The 4-time winner Litti (while using a VR device?) started the race from 3rd grid position and after 1st chicane used the fight between both front row starters for his advantage and outbraked both in the 1st actual turn - he never gave up the lead for remaining 76 kilometers of race distance and joined a bit more exclusive 5-time winners club. While running away from competition,he also set the fastest lap of the race - his 7th,while he also finished in top5 for the 7th time. Botsi was the 2nd fastest in qualifying and kept this position also after early position switchings, but his chase for lead never succeded - 2nd place finish, which is 38th top5 entry for him. Maddee set the fastest lap in qualifying and scored his 2nd pole position, unlike last time he did that, this time he tried to convert in into win - he started an RTFR race for 2nd time and completed one for the first time with 3rd place finish. Ironically the driver who broke finnish winning streak was the fastest non-finnish driver also yesterday - R.Kardol was best of the rest and finished 4th,scoring his 21st top5 finish, while first time participant GT4tube closed the top5.

Next week it will be time for the longer RTFR version XL,where the fastest car of LFS will make it's debuth in the event - BF1 will be raced in Kyoto National course, used in reversed direction, full details tomorrow in the according thread. A week after that again the normal RTFR will return with one of the street legal cars for racing, info about that as always in the weekend before that.

Yeah! Botsi, Pete and I were on the braking limit at turn 9, I thought when you sent one down the inside that it was pretty ambitious, proper butt clenching stuff for me and Pete I guess. Nod

Pity, you looked like you had nice early race pace, would have loved to seen you up with us in the later stages of the race.

Who would known that one of 5 least popular cars in this event series would gather a total of 26 drivers to attend yesterdays event - only 4 other events out of over 200 had bigger attendance. With a bit more competition around, racing was hot and so were tyres if tortured too much with LFS's heaviest car.

But there was a driver who had not enough competition - Fast set the fastest lap in qualifying by 0.4s and left the competition trying to stay with him right after the green lights. His best race lap was even further away from 2nd best than in qualifying, obviously there were no doubts about winner - Fast scored his 6th win,7th both pole position and fastest lap and also 10th top5 finish. With this performance he climbs up to 6th place in most successful driver charts. Botsi started from 2nd row,but after few looks he finally found a way past to his countryman - 2nd place finish and 39th entry in top5 list. Litti has won 4 straight slick tyre car races in row and the streak is open, but road cars are still not bringing any success to him in the normal RTFR - "just" 3rd place for him yesterday,8th top5 finish. Nova is the only driver between yesterdays top9 finishers, who hasn't scored a single race win in RTFR,still he finished 4th between more successful drivers - repeated best (and also only) finishing effort. R.Kardol finished 5th and collected 22nd top5 finish. Worth to mention that still the streak of winners being from either Finland,Lithuania and Netherlands is open and is now 19 races long. Are there any other countries with fast drivers?

RTFR now goes into the normal 2 weeks vacation and will be back in the 1st tuesday of september with slick tyre car racing. And 1 week after that the next RTFR XL is scheduled, where the combo has already been submitted - it will be the 3rd appearance of FZR in the series and it will be raced in South City's longest configuration City Long, the race is scheduled for 52 laps.

i'm in F08!
I would probably join, if only I would not be so damn tired of my work.

But I hope people who joins this, has experience of AS2/AS2R ( or was it AS3? 4? anyway! ) layout called Kink / Kink Rev. Both this and AVUS layout has a lot of similarities. ( This one is just about 2x shorter )

* PENALTIES :
AA™| rane - will never be allowed to start a race as a wildcard starter (without qualifying) for causing an avoidable incident on lap one (lack of practice).

- - - - - - - - - -

After 6 races in row on standart configurations a custom was used in the latest race - the fastest aids free car of LFS was used in circuit that consisted of 2 long straights,2 hairpins and tricky S-turns leading to one of the hairpins. In theory a relatively easy track, but Formula V8's power made it a good challenge.

Botsi was the one who dealt with this challenge best - he was the 1st to break 38 seconds laptime mark, took pole position (his 17th) and led every single lap on his way to 18th RTFR race win,but only first win since 201st RTFR - his longest winless streak for over a year in this series. He also rounded up his top5 count to 40 which is exactly half of the leading number in this chart. Litti was the only other driver to break 38 seconds mark in qualifying, but he had to earn his 2nd place in finish as he sloozed the start and lost the position - he regained in though and scored his 8th top5 finish. Simox was the one who challenged Litti for 2nd position, but had to concede it and finish 3rd - his best result in RTFR from 2 starts, previous best was 7th. Unite was the one who stole fastest lap from Botsi - that's already his 6th fastest lap of the race, but his top pace was not enough to improve by more than 2 positions between green and chequered - 4th place finish in final results and 19th top5 finish in stats. GT4tube joined RTFR for the 2nd time and repeated his previous performance - 5th position while he upgraded his previous qualifying position by 4 places.

After 2 weeks RTFR will return with street legal car racing, but already next week RTFR XL will use street illegal car on the streets of South City - FZR will be raced in it's longest configuration City Long, full info tomorrow!

The most popular car of this event was used in the latest race but seems like the long and exhausting Kyoto GP configuration wasn't too tempting for many as attendance was by 5 less than average of XFG. Still - 16 cars on grid and 5 of them previous winners of the event, while few others increased the level of competition - barely anyone could complain about boredom.

The winningest driver attending Fast was not just fast, but the fastest - his pole position time might not be that dominating, but he still led every single meter of the race. He scored his 7th race win (with this he moves up to 5th position in success ranking),8th pole position and fastest lap of the race, and 11th top5 finish. 2nd was R.Kardol 8 seconds behind winner,he earns his 23rd top5 finish. Best of the winless drivers yesterday was Ayoub Maroc in 3rd place, which is his best result in RTFR,2 positions better than previous and only other top5 effort. Michal repeated his best result 4th place finish,3rd top5 finish for him,but Unite was the only driver from top6 finishers, who did not finish in same position he started from - 5th place finish from back of the grid,top5 count is now rounded to 20.

RTFR action now takes 2 weeks break before the slick tyre cars return for racing - more details on combo as always in the weekend before it.

The smallest streak of Litti winning previous 2 races at Aston is over, but the 2 longer ones are still alive - 22nd race in row won by the lately dominating 3 nations and it was 14th race in row with over average attendance. The doped UF1 was unleashed in freedom yesterday, even if it was quite short track, the run around it was still intense with many battles for positions.

Unfortunatelly the battle for win was never really there - R.Kardol started from 2nd position and took the lead over outside of 1st turn - this was the only lead change of the race as the dutch driver pulled away from his main rival by small bits almost every lap and took his 5th race win of RTFR - he is the 17th driver to achieve this number of wins. He scored also his 24th top5 finish. Botsi retook the 1st position in qualifying order in late stages of the session and scored his 18th pole position (1 less than all-time most),but could not convert it into another race win - he was too careful in 1st turn and left all the ouside free for his teammate. The chase was difficult and only towards late stage of the race he slightly reduced the gap to leader - way too little, way too late,2nd position for the most successful driver of RTFR in yesterday's race. He scored his 41st top5 finish and clocked the fastest lap of the race, which is his 14th - this breaks the tie and Botsi is now sole leader of fastest laps of the race chart. If you see the gap between 3rd place to leading 2,there's that "best of the rest" feeling again - this time this "award" goes to Unite, who finished ahead of everyone else but 2 members of the new team,21st top5 finish for the finn. 2nd top5 finish for Simox, who finished 4th yesterday, while the veteran Snoopy scored his 8th top5 finish with 5th place finish.

In 2 weeks the normal RTFR action will return with one of the street cars for the action, but until then there will be another 2 RGE races - first the opening round of the 5th VERL season already this sunday, inviting all the powerful Formula V8 fans to race for glory (info and signups here),but next tuesday it's time for 10th RTFR XL of this year featuring FXO race at Westhill Inernational circuit - full info will be posted tomorrow!

XRT at Blackwood GP track is a very classic combo, which has been there since very early stages of LFS - after almost 9 years and more than 200 races of RTFR it was time to use this combo. Even if the attendance wasn't too high for a combo deemed to be this classic,it was still enough to keep the over average attendance streak alive, also the 3 nations dominance streak has been kept in order.

The reason for this was most successful driver in RTFR history Botsi - he led every single lap of the race and celebrated his 19th RTFR race win, after achieving also 19th pole position and 15th fastest lap of the race, his top5 count is now 42 out of 42 race finishes. His teammate was a strong backup to keep 3 nations dominance alive - the dutch driver R.Kardol converted his front row start into 2nd place finish, with that he reached a quarter century in his top5 count. 3rd most successful driver of RTFR Merenui advanced a position between grid and finish line and finished 3rd,he has now 32 top5 finishes (still 4th most),Spiky also advanced 1 position by finishing 4th,which is his 6th top5 finish. Oliver was the one giving up positions to the previously mentioned drivers, but he still saved a top5 finish by finishing 5th - 6th top5 finish for the driver who returned to this event after a break.

Next week is the one of 4 weeks without RTFR racing, after that RTFR returns with one of the slick tyre cars. 3 weeks from yesterdays race the next RTFR XL is scheduled, combo is already known - UFR at the very same track as yesterday - Blackwood GP Track. But despite next week having no RTFR event,Race Green Events are still active until next RTFR - this sunday is time for the 2nd round of 2019 VERL series, where powerful Formula V8 machines will be raced at custom Aston course named Sprint 2,more details and signups in VERL 2019 thread in this forum.
