As mentioned we will be running some public test racing on CR|Public in about an hour (18 UTC) everybody is free to join, if you're still not sure what to expect in the proper event this is the perfect time to make up your mind.

Races will be about 5-10minutes in length and we try to visit every combo present in the event on saturday.

Doesn't learning the layout at full speed neglect one of the key points in rallying, actually not knowing how the thing feels while you go full throttle?

I would really like to see something where you need to drive from someone's notes on a layout you never drove before or only get the chance to drive it once with pit speed limiter on and take notes yourself.

Well, nobody is forcing you to play with complete strangers, I usually just play with people on my friends list and thats always a lot of fun. I doubt it's PSN's fault either, you get as many idiots and childish people in any online game on the computer. That's just how it is unless you resort to private matches.

Reserve list is in place now, I'm quite sure that we wont see everybody who signed up so far, so keep posting even if you end up on the reserves, it still is very likely that you will end up racing in the event.

nice to see so many known faces signing up. We put our CR|Public server on a track rotation with all the combos we will be running in the event, if you want to have a closer look or do some training you're welcome to join us there.

Quote from boothy :Have you tried restarting the race once the start point is gone (p.s. it's "straight" )

Yep, it will just restart on the (previously deleted) starting point, until you reload the complete layout without a custom start.

easy way to switch between Z28 and Z32 without screwing your unlocks:

- Copy your unlocked Z28 /data/misc folder -> name it misc Z28
- Copy LFS.exe -> name it LFS Z28.exe

- Extract patch Z32 overwrite everything
- Unlock

To go back to Z28 either

- Rename LFS.exe to LFS Z32.exe
- Rename LFS Z28.exe back to LFS.exe
- rename misc folder to misc Z32
- Rename misc Z28 back to misc

or use the attached batchfile to switch between unlocked Z28 and Z32. (It is important that you place this in your root LFS folder and name the exe and misc folder exactly as described.

Just to clarify, the middle part with the bump and jump stuff is just for fooling around and having some fun, so no problem if you fail completely there. The proper 30min races will be the ones where you can gain most of the points.
The cake is.... (CR Birthday)

...no lie!

__

Yes we're not that cruel, there will be cake for the winner of our Birthday event.*
With the release of the new Testpatch series we thought it would be the perfect
time to finally host the long overdue Feast to celebrate our 4th year together in
green and white, we invite you to join us on the 21st of May, 18.00 UTC.

We try to make use of most of the new things contained in the Patch and while
still doing some serious racing we also aim to have a laugh or two in between
that. First of all we will go to the newly created Aston Central circuit racing the
LRF class, in the spirit of fair play and to keep the times close we decided to give
the LX6 40kg ballast. If there is no patch allowing us to do a normal qualifying
session before the Event we will do a 10 lap hardcore qual counting the fastest
time in the end. To relax a bit race 2 and 3 will both be held on Bump and Jump
like layouts in the TBO class, nothing too serious, some pictures for you to give
you an idea of what will be happening.

__ __ ___

The last proper race will go down on the Kyoto Natiolong circuit, with it's newly
added straights and discarded "buggy" chicane it will hopefully create close and safe
racing in the NGT class. After that is done the evening is almost finished, for anybody
who survived until the very last race we'll be running a special GTR/UF1 bumping
event with random teams of two on Westhill International, prepare for madness and
a big smile on your face.

*Some assembly may be required.

Sounds like the black plastic thingy with the sensor for the wheel got loose, I had the same problem and just glued it onto the wheel, no problems any more since then. Another guy used a cable clip to attach it back on.

Just be sure to do it properly because the screws are crap and you probably destroy them after taking the wheel apart a few times.

I'm not sure how hard it is but would it be possible to highlight the route you need to take on the (now very big and confusing) minimap on open configurations by calculating the route via the split times start/finish?

I would wait another month or two until the new intel Z67 chipset for motherboards arrives. Right now you can either use the internal sandybrige GPU (H67 chipset) without the possibility to overclock, or you can overclock and not use the GPU (P67) with the new Z67 both will be possible, it should be released somewhere in May.

Well... we where pretty lonely on the server so hadn't had the chance to test 3 wide, but 2 wide wasn't a problem and we still had one ramp to spare.
