  • You go to Custom camera
  • Make sure that on Draw, "body" is selected
  • And then you play with Pitch, Rotate, X, Y, Z offset to get the camera where you want
Alternatively, you could also try FlipCams

I am addressing especially to Scawen, as he seams (or seamed.. by the looks of it) to be more active on these threads, but it is a message that could be addressed to all devs:

I don't understand why you sometimes choose to answer provocative posts like some of the above (please take my statement gently, as I an not at all trying to blame you even for this..). Why not just simply ignore them ? . There will always be trolls, especially from behind a computer screen, and what's more important is that no matter what you say you'll probably never manage to change their opinion.

Instead, why not starting a normal dialog with the people that really understand why you have taken the decision that you did, people that really care about what you have to say and not trying to twist your every single word in something that it was not meant to; with people that WOULD very much appreciate an update (being communication or content wise) but don't ASK for it as it was already agreed on, with people that seem/are almost as passionate about using and enjoying LFS as you are about working on it ?

In my opinion is either that, either total silence.. but don't really see the point regarding the later.. I think that (re)starting a healthy communication would eventually "heal" the community and who knows, maybe even push the trolls away (or they would at least be "educated" by the community).

I suppose that similar messages as the one I am trying to send here were probably discussed before (The Very End is a name that comes into my mind), but one more time couldn't hurt.. Heck I am even ready to start a petition, if it would help to show the there could be some truth in what I am saying (..or show me that I am wrong ). I am sure that there would be many ways to make this work (from a simple "official" communication thread, to even a moderated one).
I, for one, am still enjoying LFS, running a league with some friends and having a blast each Sunday evening. I DO feel that I have received what I've payed for, and would NOT be disappointed even if tomorrow you would announce that you gave up on developing LFS. On the contrary, I am impressed about what you (Scavier, this time ) have managed to create, and even envy you at some point that you had the courage to go on this path and choose independence. I am not saying that everybody should feel like me (but I would like to :P ), and it doesn't have to - there are quite a few alternatives out there or there will be soon enough (rF2, IR, pCARS - maybe, AC - maybe, rF, ...).

As a closure; you (Scavier) have managed to create something exceptionally on many levels, that will definitely be remaining in the history of simracing, no matter what some would argue.. wouldn't that be a pitty to just help it slowly die ?! And more importantly, for that reason ?!

Hope you get my meaning, and perceive this as positive feedback, because it's in this intention that I've wrote it.

Quote from The Very End :But then we could have the discussion - should the devs care about that? Even if some people does not understand that everything does not goes allong the plan, should the devs focus on that critism and let the whole community out in dark?

IMO a better way would be to share what they got in pictures and what not, and if things does not go according to plan - ignore the whiners and have meaninfull discussions and talk with the PROPPER community.

Thanks for bringing these out Daniel, didn't know about them. I was actually impressed about the open comunication happening at that time.. Scawen would share even such a personal event with the comunity. Very nice. That tells a lot about the level of involvment in all that LFS means or at least meant.

Now THIS is great news. Awesome work Lynce.
Look at it not only as a present for the comunity but also as a training campaign for your skills and why not motivation. I'm sure even yourself have learned a few thins going along.

Looking forward to the teaser movie and of course the released pack.

Definetly. But I don't know exactly how, never really needed it. LFS is basically all I use long enough to care.
I am sure I have read the solution on SoftTH homepage (also there is a readme.txt, in the original folder where you have downloaded softth).

In any case, if you study it and you manage to do it, it would be nice to give something back (aka write here) . Good luck.

You're welcome. I have intended to make a thread about it (since all 15+ others on the subject don't give you the solution), but I guess this will do.
Have fun.

What version of softTH are you running ?

Note that for LFS, either you run with a DX8 version of SoftTH (1.08, I think), either you run with DX9 version and use the ENB convertor (to trick the exchange DX9<>DX8).

Just to make it simple, I have attached the 3 files you need. Just drop them into LFS folder, and the moment you launch your game it should ask you about creating the config file (delete any previous one, if the case).

For rFactor, use only the D2D9.dll

IMPORTANT NOTE: in my case it didn't work until I didn't set AA to Off in driver CPanel (nVidia 8800GT x 2; and also tested on nVidia GTX670 + 8800GT).

Greetings Omar,

rFactor runs perfect with 2 screens, using SoftTH.
Just make sure to get the last version of SoftTH (2.08, I think), as it is using DX9. Then, when configuring rFactor settings select DX9 version, and select the correct resolution.

Also, if you still need help with LFS, let me know.

Cheers,

MAIN CONCEPT:
ACCAkut said it best: sim's biggest plus is simplicity, in the good sense of the term. So it should be the main focus of design. This is where Troy's idea fits, in my book: "metro" looking style. It may not be very original (and yet, that will depend of the imagination of the actual designer(s)) but it will do the job flawlessly.
If, by all means, will have to have an original approach, then (concept wise, not looking wise) it should be thought not as a site, but as a hub, the central point where you come, and have access to all the sub-domains, within a few clicks, without the need of typing anything else. How exactly.. well that's in the next stage(s)

FORUM:
Functionality: a MUST, in my opinion, is the Like button, with the name appearing under the post. It's not about being FB-ish, but it would allow to avoid lots and lots of spam-posts like: Cool, Nice, Awesome... and still give to the poster the feedback regarding his writings.
Looks: well, would go for something 2.0 like.. even though the forum today does the job, it looks outdated, in my eyes (not talking about the engine).

Offtopic-ish:
Stating this Project inside the Project might've hit at least 3 birds with 1 stone, and personally I enjoy it.

Those trees look awsome. Speaking of it, especially on the rally x areas, the difference between the original and the RP textures, is just astonishing.
Very good progress.

Well, unless someone comes with a solution, I guess I'll have to live with it.

Thanks MadCat.
