New wheels for the roadster are coming soon, they are off my mates car as he is putting his back to standard now, he said i could have them for 20 quid as they are a bit battered and kerbed in places and he was pretty much going to bin them, but that doesnt matter to me as i will be having them refurbed and coated white anyway, plus i know he paid about 100 for them from his mate barely a year ago, i couldnt take them off him that cheap, so i have offered him 50 for them and he pretty much bit my arm off!

The annoying thing is that i do know what exact rim, well, what make they are as its stamped into the alloy itself, i just cant remember, but here is a low res pic of the rims in question, well im 99% sure these are the ones anyway, im amazed i managed to find them at all, as with no point of reference as to what make they are theres only so long you can look through google images results for "5 spoke alloy wheel" before it does your head in, so the small pic will have to suffice!

Quote from thisnameistaken :When you go on a date to the seaside you're supposed to play air hockey over-competitively and accidentally fracture some of her fingers, that's the way to a girl's heart.

LMAO, they have got an air hockey table in the 3rd arcade along down felixtowe as well, it never crossed my mind tho, more to the pity, would have been a laugh, although i wouldnt have played very competitively tho, i would probably just keep letting her win to be honest, i like to see her happy, thats my number one priority, it has to be (as i mentioned, very complex background stuff, not gonna go into detail about it but yeah, thats the way it needs to be) and if it means letting her win at stuff, letting her choose the films we go to see at the cinema, the places where we go out to, then so be it, its all about her.

I took the girl who will quite possibly be my girlfriend soon hopefully (i like her, she likes me, but its very very complicated, we are not quite there yet) to the coast yesterday and met up with a few mates for a bit, had some chips, sat by the sea and watched the sun set together while we ate them (and yes, it was frickin freezing!) i had a quick hoss on one or 2 fruit machines just to say id had a little punt lol, then we played on those 2p coin things with the slidey shelves (no idea what they are really called) plus i did the classic blokish thing (pure fluke really) went on one of those toy grabber things, 20p in, first press, we have a winner, so she now has a chef from south park toy, and they say romance is dead

Nothing is set in stone yet, but we are spending more and more time together of late, and getting closer and closer all the time, i have a really good feeling about us. :goodvibes

Quote from Klutch :I think everyone has a "One that got away" that they loved more than others, though.

This is also true, it was about 10 years ago when i was 16 or 17, so looking back it probably wasnt real love, not at that age, but it sure felt like it then, i still wonder sometimes what would have happened if we had got together all that time ago, its one of those where i guess you can never know what might have been.

this and this while i was there too, i didnt think that £140 all in was too bad really, plus it got this thing running again as the HDD bricked itself this morning and wouldnt boot in any mode, couldnt even re-install it was so screwed, so the new disk was a must, plus with XP being so ancient now getting W7 kind of made sense.

Quote from PMD9409 :It hits you like a ton of bricks, and if it ends, it feels like a ton of bricks just hit you in the chest.

Couldnt have put it better myself, especially the first part, even if your not necessarily looking for anybody or particularly expect to meet anyone, then you do, and bam, from there on in everything changes, it turns your world upside down when its that strong, and theres nothing you can do to stop it, totally powerless, i cant say its a bad thing though, although difficult sometimes, nothing in this world can compare to that feeling you get every single time you see them, it can scare the living sh!t out of you, yet make you feel so very very happy at the same time, its really quite tough to explain to someone who hasnt felt it.

I remember reading (possibly on here) that the reason why FRAPs lags when recording from some games is because its has to write the video file to disk in real time as well as having to read from that same disk to run the game, and the workaround i was told was to either have 2 hard drives or 2 seperate partitions, one for running games and stuff and one for fraps to record to.

Well my mates other half has just got one of these only cost her about 3 grand or so, and as she is only 19, and as she rolled one of her previous car onto its roof and into a field just after she had passed her test (it was me that saw her crash and dragged her out of the wreck) so i doubt she has the best insurance history in the world either.

Hers is a 5 door and has chrome alloys on it, but the same colour as this one, its a very nice car IMO.

Another freshly mixed set, enjoy!

http://soundcloud.com/clarkey1984/uk-hardcore-stop-short-set

It has that name because it stops slightly short of the full hour set i wanted to do, and the reason for that is that i ran out of tracks to use that i havent used in other sets, i dont like using the same tracks that are in previous sets.

Quote from kars19 :

something is strange here...

do you know some small displacement naturally aspirated engine with that kind of output?

Rovers little 1400 k series (dohc) puts out 103bhp, and thats as bog standard untouched as it left the factory, so id imagine that output from an engine of that size would be easily possible.

Quote from 91mason91 :His clutch decided to quit its job.

Yeah, big bangs and no more clutch, its going off to my cousins place to get fixed up soon as he has a workshop and all the hydraulic ramps and other garage kit, but the list of things it needs has now got longer as its been standing for a while, i hope that between us we can have it all done and back on the road for the summer.

Indeed, the power differences of any 2 'identical' units were huge, even when new so i heard, although i think the reason that this one was quite grunty was because it came out of a B plate hearse that had a broken autobox, and due to the nature of hearses, id imagine that it had never been thrashed, although it did smoke a bit when we first converted it from injection to a nice weber off a 3l essex, i dont think it had ever seen 5000rpm before that day.

I dont know if its just me, but despite all the engine notes and sounds there are out there, supercars etc,, to me, a screaming 2.8 with a straight thru exhaust is pretty much the best sound ever!

Thats actually reminded me of something which backs that up, a few seasons ago my mate was racing a granada at bangers, the engine was bog standard, but the quickest 2.8 cologne lump we had, no idea why, it just went really well, so we used it in most unlimited meetings and was serviced avery 2 meetings as a matter of course.

So, heat one, going well, mass pile up formed in front, mate piled in and squashed a jag nice and hard, a lovely hit, but the front of his car had wedged in the back of this jag, and he was revving like mad in reverse trying to get it out, but all this revving, and therefore oil pressure, blew the oil filter off, i guess it was all the services it had been treated too over time which had worn the threads or something, but yeah it blew it off.

There was a thick white plume of smoke for about 2 or 3 seconds, which must have been as you say, oil evaporation, that was until some splashed onto the exhaust manifolds, the entire front of the car erupted into a fireball for a few seconds before it calmed down, quite a spectacular looking flash fire!

I agree with BigPeBe, i cant see any way that stem seal failure could cause steam as the stem seals have no contact whatsoever with the coolant system, well, not in any engine i have ever encountered anyway, the only smoke you would get from bad stem seals would be blue, although i suppose really thick oil smoke could cause a whiter looking cloud, but to have smoke that thick you would have serious issues, it would stink of oil, and you would have an empty sump!

My poor little '5 is deteriorating worse than i thought it would, its only been parked up for about 6 months.

So, new jobs are....

Replace the 4 circular blobs of rust that look like they have been under the sea for a thousand years which live behind the wheels with brake discs, plus new pads as well, obviously, plus possible caliper rebuilds all round may be needed.

Repair or replace the drivers side headlight motor as it now will not pop all the way up or go all the way down without a 10 minute battle involving pushing, pulling, and swearing.

Although i have started doing this a bit at the weekend, i need to find a way to fully dry out and clean the inside of the car, as due to the damp, the seats, carpets, dash, doorcards, steering wheel, inside of the roof, were all coated in mould, lovely, and although i have got rid of all the mould i can see, i have to be totally sure that ALL traces of it are completely GONE before i let my new prospective girl anywhere near it, as she has a mould spore allergy that resulted in her getting rushed to hospital last time she had a reaction, i cannot ever risk that happening to her ever again.

Replace the bonnet (which was already creased slightly anyway) as although it didnt pierce the tarpaulin that was covering the car, the large front grille from a 70's ford that i was using to hold the tarp down has obviously rocked around a bit and has worn about a nine inch square area of paint off, leaving green primer, again, delightful.

I know its a bit pretentious to quote myself but...

Quote from danthebangerboy :if all it had taken was me declaring my feelings to make her jump ship from her current relationship then surely that would have proven (if it had happened) that she wasnt truly happy with him, because if she was (or is) then she wouldnt (didnt) leave?

They split, i win!

He said he was sick of her, she threatened to move out, to which he said well what you waiting for then, so she left, as harsh as it sounds he has played right into my hands to be brutally honest, and we have just come back from a very nice evening out having a meal and seeing a film together, a first date of sorts.

So, its very early days and who knows where it will lead, she's not officially my girlfriend yet, and maybe this may seem a bit of a cocky way to look at it, but still, i win!

Probably best my (probably soon to be ex) mate doesnt know about anything about us as yet, hence my maintaining a deathly silence about anything on facebook haha

I have been practicing my scratching more, and while im still by no means good, i think im improving.

Don't get me wrong, its still riddled with mistakes, as i havent got the hand to hand control of working record and fader at the right time every time just yet, although when im not busy making mistakes its not too bad.

Even the scratchmaster sy says, hardcore is very fast and not at all easy to learn on, but fook it, i like to go fast, even if im not capable really!
