what i feel is, the devs are working under an isolated environment, unaware of the competitions that are going to come up ahead, and somehow failed to keep their product competitive, either the speed or the way they are doing it.
i bet nobody here wanna see LFS die off, including the devs, everyone here and myself, but i really want to say is "LFS will eventually die off" what we are going to see if the development process keeps on like now. Nobody here kills LFS, it is the market that doing the job. LFS is an unfinished and underdevelopent product for sure, but that doesnt immunized itself from all types of competition, LFS is one of the product in the game market. competition doesnt just come from another good/great racing sim, instead all games and other alternatives that we can spend our spare time on are competition forces. u cant ignore the competition by just self lying and giving excuses like "oh, this is the way we do things", "we are happy with what we are doing now". i believe the devs dont want to see their own son dying, so i hope smthing will be done.
if anyone thinks it is TWEAK, plz take a look at the SPR i uploaded in the above post. u can test drive it if u want, but how well u can drive is depends on ur talent and practice :P
I hv got some old setups that the dude driving the orange car in the vid had been using back in 2007. driving style is a huge different from regular rwd cars. here is some tips, if the car get understeery u hv to ease the throttle, but if the car get oversteery, u hv to increase the throttle. its much much harder than drifting a regular rwd cars imo.
Complete windows pack for RAC+LX4/6+UF1+all other cars,
including a modded headlight glass as well, if you want
to keep the defaulf ones, dont copy "s_glassALPHA.dds"
and "s_UF_winALPHA.dds" into your dds folder.
In the 0.3 version, there are whole list of opacity level
that you can choose among to suit your personal preference,
feel free to mix files of difference opacity to get
the optimum result you want.
Default opacity of the package:
---------------------------------
33% for regular windows
80% for regular headlights
53% for LX windows
60% for UF headlights
53% for UF windows
40% opacity for RAC windows
Details of files:
---------------------------------
s_windowALPHA.dds - regular windows
rearscreenALPHA.dds - rear window of some cars, change together with "s_windowALPHA.dds"
s_glassALPHA.dds - regular headlights
s_LX_winALPHA.dds - LX windows
s_UF_headALPHA.dds - UF headlights
s_UF_winALPHA.dds - UF windows
s_windxrALPHA.dds - RAC windows
All reflection textures are completely re-worked under
1024x1024 size and 16-bit color mode, but due to the dds
compression, the outcome is not as good as I expected.
Reflection colors are finetuned for every particular track
and their weather according to the test I done before
about the relations between DDSs, tracks and weathers.
If you are interested in the test result, please see the
readme, or scroll up to post no.17.
It may be photo-unrealistic, but it is definitely looking
nice and natural, and more integrated with the track
environment in LFS.

------------------------------------------------------------------------- Colorless windows pack update v0.2
missing "rearscreenALPHA.dds" in the first release which the rear window of the XRs was still in green color, corrected in v0.2. And if anyone still find out any files are missing, please raise ur hand.
V0.3 Updates for both packs are out! Please goto post 25-27 for previews and downloads or click here.
Unrealistic reflection pack
I simply just dont like some realistic objects weaving arround unrealistically on the car, when I am taking shots its fine, but when I am viewing a replay it just looks so weird. So I decided to make this. No matter what camera you use and from whatever angle you view the car, they will now look natural, but unrealistic All files are worked base on the orginal dds.
In V0.3 all reflection textures are completely re-worked under 1024x1024 size and 16-bit color mode, reflection colors also finetuned according to tracks and their weather.
Clear colorless windows
Also attaching a windows dds pack to make the windows look colorless in LFS. Its for RAC+LX4/6+UF1+all other cars, including a modded headlight glass as well, if you want to keep the defaulf ones, just dont copy "s_glassALPHA.dds" and "s_UF_winALPHA.dds" into your dds folder.
In the 0.3 version, there are whole list of opacity level that you can choose among to suit your personal preference, feel free to mix files of difference opacity to get the optimum result you want.
Hope you like my work

I use a pretty small FOV for my driving (about 50-60)
in road cars, no problem, I can adjust the mirror position
the problem comes when I drive a single seater
which the FOV I m using wont allow me to see the mirrors at all
so I m relying on the virtual mirrors
then I regonise that there is a big difference between the FOV value of a real mirror and a virtual mirror
the virtual mirror has a much larger FOV so that everything has become so small to see
and main problem is the difficulty to figure out the distance between the car in the back
so I suggest that the virtual mirror FOV should be adjustable, neither with the main FOV or adjustable as a seperate option
that will be even better if there is a option to alter the height and width of it
for better racing quality
i also suffer from this a lot when i shift+f4, the FPS falls to single digit and LFS will have a 100% CPU usage, have to reinit the display card driver to get it back to normal, but the problem will appear repeatly when i do another shift+f4
It is quite difficult to do balance the LX4 and the TBO cars in fact. It really depends on the track. The lx4 is way too fast in the corners but way too slow on a main straight, it might be the king in SO, but it definitely the slowest car through most AS and KY tracks. So the balance should be changed from track to track and that will need quite an amount of testing to figure out a good restriction balance. So emmm, i just dont think adding LX4 is a good idea.
