Quote from DasBoeseC :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Development_stage

.....as far as I know 0.6 should be the initial release version of S2.....

yes, so "Alpha level software can be considered approximately 35% complete"
and "Beta level software is between 60% and 70% complete"

i think that they should start from 0.1 again just to confuse the noobs :P

to answer the original question, it will goto 0.6.
And as it will be the initial release of 0.6, it wont be known as 0.6 patch A... until the first 0.6 patch is released

i thought that with software development, alpha was version 0 to 0.5
and beta was 0.6 to 0.9

either way, we should be happy with the progress

i think that the devs do not require any further assistance. I think that it is important to keep the game a closed system also, to discourage hacks, and stupid things like driving busses on BL rallycross and putting the video on youtube.

there are already plenty of suggestions for the improvement of the game, including car/track/feature requests, as well as bug reporting. Be patient, the devs will get to them and implement it the only way they know how - the best way.

having too many user submitted things for the game will make things too hard to keep track of, for the devs and the gamers and the add on programmers.

LFS is a fantastic PC game, and i like the way how the devs are doing their job.

the game is progressing well, and in a way that it will always have people comming back and wanting more with excitement, as shown with the release of the X patch.

no, it should not be retailed. The current online purchasing setup is fine the way it is. Dont want the game to have licence keys floating around the place.

If people cant order the game online, then they can stick to the demo cause they are either too young (to even afford the game in the first place, let alone access to a credit card or something) or too scared of being online. So many people are ordering things off the internet these days, so its not like the game is seriously reducing its potential subscription base by not retailing.

The people that play this game already know about PC race sims. So to attract more people, maybe some good old fashioned name dropping at other car enthusiast forums.

The manual is already online, the game is available free to download online,... so why charge people for things that are already easily available?

By not retailing, then we will keep the Need for Speed players out, cause they dont use their brakes at turn 1.

the thing that got allot of ppl into games like Live4Speed and GranTurismo1&2, was that you could drive actual road cars. Having F1 cars, prototypes, has been over done imho. Sure, having a range of cars is good, but my favourite times playing LFS were when racing gti, gt, gtt, rb4, fxo. I think that if there were more cars in those classes, it would be good fun.

the gti/gt class - rwd 4cyl covertable, rwd 4cyl mid mounted,....
the rb4/fxo class - rwd v6 sedan, rwd supercharged 4cyl ...

how about one of those small cars that are both turbocharged and supercharged - Nissan March Super Turbo - that would be a first to have one of them engines put into a game.......

dont want to take out racing sim competition, (eg, gt legends) but maybe a few classics would be a bad thing imho. always been a fan of the loud petrol guzzling V8's.
