Just for the record: the 'bump' is obviously not a 'speed bump'. It's as if there are 3 meters of the road that resisted the long-term, gradual sinking of the road, that took place everywhere else. So you have a 3-4 (?) meter long, around 20-30cm (?) high platform with quite abrupt edges, covering the whole width of the road.

The place is very well known in Warsaw. As pasibrzuch said, the ferrari accident is the third in the exact same place, caused by the same bump. It's hard to believe for me that the driver didn't know about it and still decided to go there fast (how fast exactly is disputable).

As for having the bump fixed, I'd say it's not a ridiculous idea, as some of you have written. If you go there 50km/h but on a sportsbike or in a car with stiff suspension, you could hurt your balls or back (depending on your vehicle ).

Quote from The Moose :Opera is soooo slow on my machine for some reason.
I've never really seen what all the fuss is about with Opera. It seems to do less than Firefox.

On my computer Opera opens almost instantly while FF will make me stare at a blank screen for half a minute. So I don't run FF unless I have to. :nod

As for standards compliance, I saw a big big table comparing IE, Opera and FF and it was in fact FF that got most of the things right, Opera slightly behind and IE... well...

Maybe Ian thought that we have a new sun on the forum. One is already too much and the thought that there would be two perhaps made him a little edgy

But then what do I know

I haven't actually tried this, but judging by the screenshot - woudn't it be handy to have an input box to enter the filename and have the new (cut) mpr saved there? If I understand correctly, now you will cut the original mpr and lose all data from before/after the split frames. Am I right?

Hi,
can anyone point me to the TOS regarding PubStats? I'm looking for information about using 2 IdentKeys on a single IP.

Quote from frokki :A Finnish man usually seems more or less emotion-dead on the outside. At least my Russian girlfriend and her mum are often amused by their boyfriends' 'typical Finnish sullen behaviour' I feel generally very happy at most times, but instead of smiling and jumping home from a shop like a Little Red RidingHood in the woods, by default my face is like I'd be in a funeral and I rarely start a conversation unless I really have something to say.

So the actors in "The man without a past" ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0311519/ ) weren't actually as bad as I thought
(On a sidenote, I think I might be a Finn too)

Quote from anibarro :I said that HVLC could be more controversial becouse people used to put their best effort on HVLC, and, as you said, PBs means almost nothing.

Well, I said the contrary, because when physics engine and car performance changes, for me it's obvious HL are invalid, and because they are the official benchmark I see no other options then nullify them - nothing controversial for me here.
On the other hand, PB's might or might not be valid, but they're not a benchmark anyway as they can be easily manipulated.

Quote from anibarro :Just becouse there is no way to know that you really did it with X38. Deleting all PBs solves this problem and, in my opinion, deleting PBs online should be a lot less controversial than deleting HVLC times...

I would say quite the contrary. While WR's are really a benchmark, and an official one at that, PB's mean nothing or very little at best but can be important in different ways for different people (I mostly mean sentimental value).

And using PB's for league qualification is useless, as you can set up your own private server using an old version, in which you can go faster than now and set yourself an unfair new PB. Oh, forget that. Just set up a server with a TWEAKable or SlickModdable version of LFS and enjoy your server#1 place for your next league race. Or bump draft with a friend. Or set high wind and wait for it to blow in a direction that would overall improve your laptime. Or... etc. etc.

Deleting now would also be unfair for those who want to have a PB for every combo, like the 950 (soon 1040) combo club members.

RaceAbout !

Stay away if you see one, or you might get run over by an unsuspecting driver caught by surprise by a sudden oversteer-understeer-oversteer-understeer(repeat 3 times) situation

Quote from Madman_CZ :Quite a kind draw i feel for the Czechs too, Poles are a good side though.

Here everyone says "dream group", but I don't think so. IIRC only one team goes through without the need of playing additional matches, and I'm affraid I know which team it will be
Also I feel Slovakia are capable of one or two upsets.

Sorry to not mind my own business, but I think the manager (McLaren or McClaren? Make up your minds, guys!) is to blame. England has a lot of good footballers, and if those considered "the best" are too lazy to play well for the national side, it is the manager's job to find others who will be delighted to "spit their lungs out" on the pitch.

To make my point stand stronger, I will give the example of my country's national team. We have never ever started in Euro, because we could never qualify. Our FA president was about to be kicked out, so as a last resort to save his chair, he appointed a certain Leo Beenhakker to be in charge of the national team. And guess what? He scouted out players from Polish league, some of them were unheard of even by average football fans here, and they won the qualifying group against Portugal, Serbia and Finland.

Now THAT is a difference that a good manager makes.

P.S. The FA president saved his job.

Quote from Hallen :If you are bored, then you are not putting enough into it. There are so many more facets of racing than just lapping or even pickup races online. Skinning, setups, understanding the physics, what exactly does 50 Knm/s really mean... etc. Plenty of stuff to do. Organize a league, put a team together for endurance racing... man the list just goes on.

The point is, if you are bored, then I will tell you the same thing I tell my kids: We are not responsible for entertaining you. Quit whining and go engage your mind. You just might find out that you have one and it can be very entertaining to play with.

Well, first the most important thing - obviously, it was Hyperactive who got the units right! Learn the bloody physics, guys!

Now, back to you, Hallen. First of all I'm not whining, but it might be hard to distinguish over the internet ofcourse.

Next thing: if I'm bored of Aston and not of South City, then I guess that means Aston bores me and South City doesn't - nothing more, nothing less, thank you. Just food for thought.

As for your other advice - I don't have time for organizing leagues (OK, right now I'm organizing a mini-league, but my driving force is a custom car [VOB swapping] and not the tracks. But I'm going off-topic here) or running in endurance leagues. Yes, I know it's not your fault nor is it your duty to entertain me, but I've never stated or implied that, have I?

Quote from March Hare :So you think the devs are unable to ask for help even if they need it?

Maybe sometimes they don't realize they might need it? Most(?) of the current car sounds were made by one of the players, after the sound editor shortcut was leaked

Quote from marzman :They can't be boring. All tracks are completely different. If you drive WR's on every track you can say you're bored, if you don't you don't get everything out of the track. I'm far from bored

These are two completely different things. I'm not even close to doing a WR on AS National in any car, but I don't ever ever race it unless it's in a league event, which then I just have to. It's THAT boring

On a sidenote - funny, how Aston got me bored a lot faster than South City, which we've had for a lot longer and which I could still drive every day. Says something about track attractiveness
