Quote from col :@Scawen have you secretly been working on the AI? they seem to be less A and more I than I remember. I was driving Turbo on Westhill National, and the AI were adding to the experience rather than ruining it !

I reported very slow AI (less I, more A) on Westhill International in the test patch thread, but it stayed the same for official patch. Frown
Maybe he focused more on the new layout and I have to try it.
In the end, we have to take it as we get it. And Westhill in itself is a real beauty.

Did some racing with the AI. They are really slow. Even without knowing the track and default setup I'm 4s faster than them. The AI never touches the curbs and their racing line through the chicanes is bad. I hope that they will be fixed. Perhaps a good hotlapper can post a nice lap. I'm managing a 1.54 with default setup on WE international and FZR.

Apart from this it's a great update. I really love the flow of the track. Smile

Quote from Be2K :and what about custom Pits ??

Still thinking about this...

With custom start positions, custom pits and, for the far future, custom racing line for AI, that would be a mighty feature. Just add the whole earth and we can race wherever we want (Nordschleife included)... ok, maybe I went a little too far. Smile

Anyway, I have nothing to say about Test Patch G3. I'm going to participate in testing when Westhill Test Patch is out.

@Scawen:
I'm really impressed and excited how you communicate with us over the last few weeks/months.
Keep it up!

Just run my offline Championship against AI last weekend with 0.6G at KY2 and everything worked perfect (stats recorded with LFSStats). Next track on the list: Westhill
I'm looking forward to another perfect race weekend on the new Westhill track.

Quote from Scawen :The people who have such low frame rate in red-cyan mode, could you try with the Anaglyph.psh from the attached zip?

Well, it didn't help very much. Now I get 17 FPS instead of 15 FPS.

As sermilan mentioned: FPS get higher decreasing the screen size in window mode. Mouse pointer lags no matter of the screen size.
This applies for both Anaglyph.psh files.

Windows 7
Pentium E6300
Geforce 9300
(yeah, I know I need to upgrade my system)

Quote from sermilan :There is a FPS increase in 2D, it goes up to 150 FPS (earlier not more than 100), but I get very low FPS in 3D red-cyan option, only 15-20 FPS even if no AA . Was that to be expected?

Same here:
Up to 90 FPS (70 FPS before) in 2D, but only 15 FPS in 3D red-cyan.

/Request

As I enjoy driving against AI, it would be nice to have some changes to the single-player setup screen, so you can easily change the car, setup and skill level of each AI driver. (See image)
Currently it is possible to do this, but it is very annoying.

Quote from Scawen :Linux does pop into my mind once in a while.

Love the idea of LFS for Linux. For me that would be the point to finally say goodbye to Windows. I'm very happy using LMDE and even my wife only uses Kubuntu because on her Notebook it is so much faster and stable than Win7.

At the moment I assume you can't tell if it is even possible to create a LFS Linux version?

By the way, it really disturbs me that i can't watch movies from xbox.com on Win7 or hardly can connect my WP8 smartphone. Why is it so much easier with Itunes? Gave Windows 8 a try but it sucks.

This is one of the best Best threads i have read since 5 years. Please no OffTopic.

I can imagine that realizing an accurate realtime (tyre)physics model is an achievement which could lead to a great interest among car manufactures. As i am informed, today it takes much time to simulate the things we need for LFS in realtime even for big companies. I dont think VW picked LFS for the Scirocco only for commercial reasons.

Just my 2 cents after such a long time.
Keep patient!

Quote from mc906 :
LX has too much of a greater acceleration against the XRT, RB4, and FXO.

makes no sense to me. in d1gp there are cars with 600HP (and more) drifting against cars with 180HP so whats the problem with LX6 and LX4 against XRT, RB4, FXO and FZ5? going to be a boring contest with such a lack of cars

my suggestion: let them drift with whatever they want. if someone wants to win he never choose a BF1

my favourite car clearly is the UFR. love this small thing looking similar to a mini cooper. its much fun driving this pocket rocket in South City.
The LX6 is cool, too. I chosse the LX6 for drifting and its a challenge to drive fast with the LX6 WITHOUT drifting.

Quote from Blackout :Never have I seen brakes catching fire and getting destroyed in F1. Does that happen anywhere?

it happened in f1 to Heinz Harald Frentzen in the year 1996 in melbourne. he was on 2nd but the brake exploded 3 rounds before finish.
