Quote from Bmxtwins :Sorry for this, but you guys turned in and he was still there.

What? You know what blue flag means man? You were lapped down, you MUST let go. Instead you fight, and take me out. Crazy.

Well, I can't fix the problem. We tried changing networking parts like adsl modem and router and lan card, and it won't go away.
Also it seemes to be related to the number of the ppl on the server because when only 1-2-3 are on the server its not happening, but when more than 5-6 then it does.

Hey,
This issue seems to be happening to a friend of mine now. Short mpr attached. If you look at Vallo quickly you can see him beeing invisible in the pits with lag message. It actually starts with that he can race fine and after 10-20-30 minutes of driving he's car dissapears, goes into lag and its start counting but it can go on for another 30 minutes before he actually gots disconnected from the server. Meanwhile he can see chat stuff, just not cars.
Any ideas?

Here is another longer race replay. You can see him go lag in lap 16 and only times out around lap 30 while he was practicly driving alone on his own race. Making a stat of this replay show that he indeed was driving until lap 29, it shows he's laptimes.

You can pwn me before the green flag anytime as long as I pwn you after it

Exactly the point. Thanks for pointing it out. And lap 141 was just an example, the tip of the iceberg. Our car was following #39 for like even 20 laps throughout the race at different stages, and I undestand that they didnt want to lose any time, but this is unacceptable.

#39 is failing to let us go for several laps, several times now while they are having blue flag. And even showing like intention of letting us go but eventually dont, causing contact, damage and time loss.
Lap 141 for example.

I agree too. I think 27 still not enough for 2 class racing.

Yeah, diffs are definately working right other than the missing preload in the clutch pack. I think it's in the tyre physics like Scawen said, that we can use the locked better. You have to set the suspension (springs and anti-rolls) so that the inside driven wheel would lift off the ground while turning (meaning stiffer front suspension on an fwd, and stiffer rear suspension on an rwd than on the other end of the car), and like that you can avoid the crazy understeering effect of the locked-together wheels, so you can turn well enough. I suppose the tires can take on much more weight than they should be able in real life. Let's say the FZR is rear weighted as it is, and with stiffer rear suspension the outside rear tire holds almost the whole rear weight of the car while turing, and with downforce as well that is a lot of kgs, which would cause massive tire overload, and a loss of grip, but not so much in LFS. So yeah, its probably in the tires.
But I think adding preload to cluch pack would make it a hell of a lot better, and as it's alrealy faster (but a lot harder to drive) in some cases it would make the drivers use that already, and a couple of shaping in the tire physics would make everything right: locked diff => off road :P

Quote from Bawbag :I didn't lift on the entry because I knew for a fact that I would have to let off mid corner to make way for 2 cars and in that pic Davo posted and in the replay i'm easily aiming for the apex of the corner.

I know that I should have let off being only slightly alongside BUT I lost a good amount of speed when you pushed me onto the grass so I didn't. I'm sure you wouldn't let go of a position so easily when your opponent has just disadvantaged you when they very easily could have left you the room you deserved.

Yeah, your wheel certainly is aiming for the apex, but you know the car most of the time don't goes that way when you are going 190.
Just say you wanted to get revenge for the turn before and we are done here.

Quote from Bawbag :Yea I on purposely knew that Norbi wasn't expecting me to still be on his inside and take the inside line, good definition of wreck.

Now come on! I really didn't want to write anything cause I just don't care, that's the reason I left on the first place but this is just enough.
Have you even looked at the replay to see what have you done?
You WEREN'T EVEN LIFTING OF THE THROTTLE on the entry of that turn until the very moment when you hit me. You like missed the entry point and your car was clearly aiming toward the outside of the corner, toward me. Even if I'm not there you would have missed the apex big time. Not to mention that you were like 10 cms besides and you only caught up to my rear wheel with your front because I lifted off for the turn, which you would have NEEDED to do too, if your intention was to keep the inside line, but I have to say that I really don't think thats the case.

I'm not sure I understand corrently the whole thing, so I'm sorry if I say something wrong.
But I guess you can't rely on the tracker if the race isn't really finished and the cars keep on going in the replay because you'll always have that time window where you can get wrong results. So probably the fair solution is to correct the last lap manually based on the apparently known flaw.
At a red flag situation the tracker should counting laps until the last car on the track before the leader has finished it's lap and of course if the leader is within that time window and does another lap that should be subtracted from them to get the corrent results. I think.

Edit: It's lucky now, cause there is still a whole lap between positions, so it won't change anything, but maybe next time something like this happens there won't be, and this will become a serious problem.

If that is the case there is a way to correct it: give Cyber only 326 laps

Positions in Part 1 seems ok but we were never down by 2 laps from Cyber.
The fartest we were down was apporx 1 and a half lap around 3h 45 mins after the start, shortly before the crash. At the same time #22 was within seeing distance from #04 on the track and 1 lap down.

Edit: Uhm, sorry, maybe we were down by 2 sometime during after all. As it seems Cyber had a pit stop in the subtracted laps, and that can be confusing on this short track.

As the matter of fact my team was on the receiving end on that race cause we turned out to be one of the last cars leaving the accident, but I didn't hear my teammates complaining. This is racing, things like this can happen once in a while and we (should) just have to let it go, with of course giving some kind of penatly to the causer. If always everything would work out perfectly we wouldn't be here now because racing were dead boring to do then.

But here we are in a league called the Masters of Endurance (where you can't even just think one and start, but you gotta go trough experience filtering, and you have to get invited), with the best people of LFS from around the world and we use a tool to guide the start of 6, 12 and 24 hours races called n00bStart...

Quote from PaulC2K :Because people ignored race rules last time round and chose to selfishly accelerate way over the limit and then brake as they pleased causing disruptions to those behind them maybe?

Yeah, that happend once in one and a half season of good racing. I think thats really not that big of a problem.
