I think the most impressive demonstration of the work the guys have put in modelling active aero is the Huayra:

It's not just predefined animations, each flap angle is calculated.

Perfect use of the driver gestures. We should look into adding an "it's that way" gesture. Nice cover of Caravan too, btw.

Any option with the suffix "Effects" can be safely set to 0 without detriment to the actual FFB as they are exactly what they say, added effects brought in by popular request. They mostly just add in vibrations and bumps that one would feel all around and not necessarily on the steering column. They're not so much canned or scripted as they do have correspondence with what is going on in the physics engine, it's just that they normally wouldn't be forces transferred via the steering column to your wheel.

The 3 main options you should concern yourselves that correspond to the actual FFB are Gain, Filter and Damping. Filter is used to reduce clipping, it culls off spikes and damping as expected applies an envelope to the FFB making it more "mellow".

Quote from Boris Lozac :Ok i've installed it again, was it the 'flip queue size' the option i'm after? 0 or 1?
And i'm not quite sure how to disable that API detection, do i need to add a profile then for assettocorsa.exe?

edit: yep still crashes. Added only the acs.exe profile, without doing that other thing.

According to another user on t ... a thread about radeon pro: Setting, Compatibility List and add AssettoCorsa.exe, check "Disable API detection"

Quote from Boris Lozac :Radeon pro crashes the game..

Set the profile to target acs.exe instead of the launcher's assettocorsa.exe - it should be ok. Might also need to tell RadeonPro to disable API detection for assettocorsa.exe entirely.

Quote from The Very End :What had LFS been without the community which made things like Highres textures when the devs could not be arsed to do it themself? What would LFS be without advanced insim and tracking systems (do I need to mention CTRA?) made by the community? What would LFS be without the organized races and leagues by the community?
It would be something, sure, but I doubt it would have reached anywear near the status it got thanks to the community. Where the devs failed the community pulled through and made it live long, sadly it canot continue like it.

Where you see failure I see success. They had the knowledge and open-mindedness to provide a platform that could be extended and their creation lived on in all sorts of incarnations. In terms of software engineering this is a spectacular feat that quite a few would be envious of.

Constructively criticizing an existing product for its shortcomings is one thing. Actively insulting the people who created it is a totally different thing, no matter the pretext.

Put it in context though, if this is your reaction towards the creators of a program you have enjoyed and were entertained by for years what should be your reaction towards the creator of a computer virus that caused data loss for you? And that is limiting it just to the computer-related part of your life. What should be your reaction to people who control events that cause unnecessary and often harmful complications in your life?

Quote from seniecka :Well, it's really big shame that those three lazy dudes can't put themselves together and release something that was planned to be released 5 years ago. It's just ridiculous. 5 years!
...
LFS devs are the biggest lairs. It's really shocking that they act so unprofessionally and irresponsibly.

They haven't lied about anything. And I can't see how they are lazy. And if anything the proof about their responsibility and professionalism is pretty obvious in the product: for close to 10 years it has worked with almost 99% up-time.

Whenever you manage to make a living, raise a family and pursue a thing called "having a life" through the fruit of your own labor, without having a boss over your head, then perhaps you'll understand. In the meantime, no one owes you anything.

Quote from Ingolf :Sorry for just taking out parts of your comment, but those statements (alone) are really important to me as well. I noticed that the ingame options were not enough to get me "there". For example, there's a "Speed sensivity" slider for your controller that starts at 0 and ends at 1 with increments of 0.05. I found that 0.05 is often too much for my liking, but 0 is far to "reactive". So I wished there would be increments of 0.005 (or at least 0.01).

Would be nice if we had this feedback in the official forums, but regardless, I've made a note about this. I'll see if we can make it in a smaller update before 0.6, otherwise it'll have to wait until that version is closed.

Quote from Ball Bearing Turbo :Update: the AI hack does still work. Select a challenge and then switch to Quick Race (maintains the grid - I like this about the AC UI, everything you do transfers to the "next" thing you do - brilliant) and choose any track you want and it works decently.

On that note, keep in mind if you are to report any AI issues to do so when using the predefined combo from special events. They're sort of "case studies" for the time being.

Don't they have any phone-control laws in that country? No background checks, maybe some psychiatric evaluation - can't be having people texting with any kind of phone like that.

The then publisher for nkPro (UIG) went through with this a couple of years ago a little after they published a boxed version, it wasn't directly done by Kunos Simulazioni.

Quote from Boris Lozac :I don't get Muslims and their hardcore religion at all (not saying for this case but generally).
I'm sorry but you're way too radical, suicide bombing the shit out of innocent people like once a week. And everyone is fine about that there? How the fck aren't there any protests and outrages when a suicide bomber kills 40 IRAQI policeman, not infidel americans, your own countryman.
They are traitors to your alah and deserve to die? I really don't get it, can a muslim help me explain. Is that really the only way to tell americans to go home..

That sort of event has got nothing to do with americans directly. There's a long running conflict between sunni and shias, supposedly due to the battle of Karbala which came about due to a difference on accepting who the first imam was. That was long time ago - very long time ago, and it's a perfect fairytale to keep people divided. Much like all religious or political fairytales of that sort are.

Any more, as it was then really, it is totally irrelevant - the issue is simple, in countries that have been put through the grinder there are very few rich people and very many poor people with a huge difference in how rich and how poor they are. In this case it is poor muslims and rich muslims. Like most poor people around the world they get shat upon and inevitably due to illiteracy and despair take to extreme views much like idiots in our parts of the world are attracted to neonazi, white supremacy, hardcore nationalist or other fascist organizations.

I find it interesting that in the same country a kid with a gun killed more people than this attack managed to; yet in similar bombings in other countries, I think most recent one was Pakistan with 60+ dead, they manage to take out whole marketplaces.

And the publicly spoken of suspects are:
a. al qaeda
b. independent in-country jihadists
c. right-wing extremists

If it's (a) then that's a really poor comeback and it's a far cry from the damage the homegrown terrorist attacks (or call them what you want) on schools have done in recent years, let alone their own crowning achievement of the WTC. However, govt sponsored terrorist drone strikes in other countries will somehow set the score right for the majority of the easily-swayed public, even if they'll result in a far greater number of 8 year olds being shredded - at least they're anonymous. On the plus side it'll provide work for munitions factories and security contractors.

If it's (b) then someone actually took Four Lions as instructions. Ideally, the sane, intelligent people will prevent the idiots from going pogromist; although most possibly they'll just sit back, watch and tweet in indignation.

If it's (c) then they're just following the road the rest of their ideology's sympathizers around the world are marching down; and sadly enough they're on the rise.

Another point of interest is the lack of someone taking responsibility: for both (a) and (b) this is odd, if it was either one would expect them to take credit with pride right away; on the other hand it's to be expected for (c) as they have the most to lose and so far they've gotten away with it.

Come to think of it security contractors benefit either way as they're bound to from any terror inducing act.

Quote from Whiskey :It seems to be correct. If I unlock the game, close it and open it it keeps unlocked. But somehow, when I try to play another day it's locked again.

I'm going to do a backup of that folder once I can unlock this new version, though I hope this issue not to be present anymore.

We've had that pop up some times when virtual NICs (like hamachi or other such VPN software) are present during license activation. If it happens again, please take some time and make a report in the TP forum. Generally it's a good idea to keep a backup of your license folder regardless.

The Master - I hadn't really been paying attention to Mr Phoenix, sort of considered him a boring/unconvincing actor having seen him in 2-3 films in the past, but he actually delivers some good stuff in this one.

Quote from Cornys :I also have a shotgun at home (not loaded, but readily able to be once you find the shells) in case somebody would attempt to break in or attempt to rape or kidnap somebody or anything of that sort in the house.

Do spontaneous acts of philatelic vandalism classify in the general category of "anything of that sort" or must the illicit activity to be forcefully repelled slot between rape and kidnapping?

Ah yes, about time the concept of reporting possible thoughtcrime to the "appropriate people" came along since doublethink is quite abundant in this thread already.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :Isn't it just ****ing terrifying that you are allowed to get wasted and buy a gun at the same age?

A couple of wars ago when 18 and 19 y/o american kids were on their way to Iraq and stopping by here before the Gulf we got a demo of that irony. Took me a while to realise why they made such a big issue - photographs and all - about being able to drink a beer on the street.
