GFC Rules
Core Principle of the GFC

Always respect your opponents.

Remember, we are all here to have fun. You are competing in the GFC to provide competition to your fellow drivers. You are there to make their races enjoyable. If everyone keeps this principle in mind this will result in a fun championship for all.

Section 1 – General Conduct

1.1 Always respect your opponents. Behave in a gentlemanly fashion at all times
1.2 Never complain to a driver about his driving either during or after the race. Complain to the Race Director by following the Grievance Procedure set out here http://gentlefoot.com//LFS/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20. Anyone arguing during or after a race (for the duration of the replay) will receive a stiff penalty. If you have nothing nice to say do not say anything.
1.3 Any behaviour that the race director deems as offensive in any way whatsoever may be met with penalties.

Section 2 – On Track Conduct

2.1 Always avoid contact with another driver and give him room. Never move off the racing line if it will result in contact.
2.2 If you attempt a pass on another driver, give him opportunity to see you coming and ensure you have adequate overlap.
2.3 If a driver attempts a pass on you and has sufficient overlap you must leave space for them at the apex.
2.4 When defending a pass from another driver you are only allowed to switch position across the track once. Swerving from one side of the track and back again will result in penalties.
2.5 When recovering back on track after an incident cars already on track have the right of way over you. Anyone pulling back on track into the path of another car will be penalised.
2.6 When recovering from a spin you must give way to cars already proceeding on track.
2.7 If you damage your car to the point where it is hard to control, on the way back to the pits you MUST avoid getting in other cars way or creating debris on track i.e. hitting tyre barriers that could result in compromising another drivers race. If that means crawling along the grass for the best part of a lap then that is what you must do.
2.8 While racing please keep chat to a minimum i.e. expressions of thanks and pleasure. There will be Teamspeak available if you wish to use it.
2.9 Telepitting is banned. You can do this in the race but you will not score any points. You are allowed to telepit during qualifying.
2.10 When exiting your pit box you must ensure you do not make contact with any car already travelling down the pit lane.

Specific Rules For FO8s

2.11 Making contact with a FOX while passing or lapping is absolutely unacceptable and will be met with stiff penalties.

Specific Rules For FOXs

2.12 Making any attempt to block the path of a lapping FO8 is absolutely unacceptable and will be met with stiff penalties.

Section 3 – Flags

3.1 A yellow flag is a warning that there may be an incident ahead. Proceed with caution. You MUST NOT overtake or lap cars while under a yellow flag.
3.2 A blue flag is simply a warning that a car is catching you from behind. The driver in front must avoid any sudden changes of track position. The driver behind has a clearer view and it is their responsibility to negotiate a safe path past the driver in front.
3.3 When being lapped by someone in the same class as you the blue flag must be observed. You should allow the lapping car to pass easily by either lifting momentarily on a straight or leaving the door open at corner entry.

Section 4 - Race Procedure

4.1 Race day will consist of a 15 minute qualifying session followed by an approximately 75 minute race. There will be NO restarts under any circumstances other than technical issues with the server. Qualifying and the race will start on-time.
