hehe! I just can't do that.. I don't have the memory for it. If I don't comment my code, within an hour it makes absolutely no sense to me any more. I actually find myself writing to myself in the comments, as if I'm a 5 year-old. It's pretty bloody sad, actually!

As for databases and fieldnames.. same goes. It HAS to make sense, in and of itself. One of the reasons I code really quickly is because I have to get things finished before my rather short attention span expires. If something rolls over to the next day, I may as well wipe it and start over. I am THAT bad!
ROFL... well.. as sam said about me, i used to argue with other coders within my code... i did have a few variables called blah, one or 2 called foo, and bar... i also had to declare a few at the begining once which was something like
$ali = $_POST['user'];
$is = $_POST['email'];
$a = $_POST['notes'];

I wont continue cause i dont want to get banned .... but you get the drift

and sam really is that bad... I have to make sensible databases now, otherwise when he goes to pull the info again, the poor sod gets lost lol

I am really bad in this regard now. I don't know whether it's because of misbehaviour in my youth or if it's just what it's like being in your 30s, but my memory is riddled with holes. I spend most of my time time at work on the phone just having people prompt me to remember stuff I apparently talked to them about the week before. We have conversations that go "Oh wow, that's cool, when did you come up with that?", "You wrote it", "Did I?", "Yes, last Wednesday", "Really? It doesn't look like my code...".
I didn't misbehave in my youth, and it hit me in my 30s. If I'd known that then, I WOULD have misbehaved in my youth! Missed opportunity there!

The only thing that's changed, since hitting my 40s, is that my FIRST reaction to a challenge is to delegate it, rather than my SECOND (when I find I can't do it).. but in every other respect, it's just a continuation of the same slippery slope!

There's me buggered then!
I'm 24 and i'm already like that ::sobs::

LOL.. i been trying to get sam into PHP rather than that yucky ASP language, so he can do my coding for me.. he's not taken me up on that offer yet tho.. wonder why hehe

Same here, but seeing I use dvorak, mine look more like "uaeou" or "hdthn". A bit more variety :P

also sorted by modified since you always have a vague idea how far youll have to scroll down to find what youre looking for ?
Quote from Zachary Zoomy :this was on SO2R!

thats still a tight-ish track, although the XRG has no real advantage its still quite easy to use the straight line speed to gain some places
So.... a question. I just logged off the silver/gold server (1 race) because it was a mandatory pit. Is this going to be the case from now on? Was this just something done that was for the heck of it? Or was it a test to see how others like it?

I certainly hope the servers will not be set to mandatory pit. It just completely destroys any racing when you are battling someone for half a race and they veer off into pitlane never to be seen again until the end. That's just lousy.

PLEASE just let that be a one time deal, never to be seen again
Thats just because it's on endurance races....There's been pit stops in endurance for a while now.

And personally i love it
I'm not a fan of compulsory pitstops either, although I am a fan of strategy. I preffer to race nose to tail - but endurance day was flagging in popularity so I went on to the servers and spoke to drivers about it a while ago and the consenssus was to shorten the races (from x3 to x2) and add compulsory pitstops. Endurance day is still once per week, I was considering whether it had a place on the first tier servers, but that's up to CTRA now.

Ever declared an integer called "eresting"? A constant called "ipated"?

3B Server?
Any plans to resurrect the STCC 3b "silver and up" server (LX4, LX6, RAC)on CTRA? I was actually starting to like those things...

Thanks to UKCT for taking these over, and to Becky for setting it all up in the first place.
Ok then, just for endurance night. 8 laps at Aston National endurance???? Anyways, I just don't understand where all this pit strategy is that people talk about with mandatory pit on short races. There's no strategy with 1 second pitstops where you don't need fuel or tires. Pitstops are useless unless you have damage or at least an hour long race. But that's a different discussion that has been done before and has proved that my thoughts are somehow in the minority....

LOL! no.. although i'll try and work them into my next bit of work

(Sam is going to hate you for that)
Quote : 8 laps at Aston National endurance????

The laps calculation is dynamic, the minimum in normal play is 4 but it will scale up depending upon how busy the server is, what the track is, and which server it is. On endurance night the minimum is raised to 8.
Servers down?

Hmm, maybe not...
The server just went down - time to go and inform an SA!

EDIT - Connectivity Issue - no idea why, the server just lost connection to "teh intertubes", should be back now

I second that - it's good to have some variety on the STCC/CTRA servers.
Thanks for the fun racing and good luck preparing for Patch X!
woot it lives
