Odd Combo Club
Odd Combo Club (OCC) was formed by some LFS fans that got fed up with the few available combinations in LFS: Mostly it was GTRs at Aston National, maybe some Blackwood, BMW Sauber at the Kyoto Oval and Blackwood too and then the 'variety' almost ended. There were a few FOX servers running South City tracks too. There were and still are servers running different combinations but they are not used much. The point of OCC is to run a server that is widely known and thus used a lot. That goal was achieved with the help of http://www.ukct.net/, who provided a server.

Thanks to Victor, we now got our own board in the Leagues and Events forum. Here you can suggest and debate over future combos, tell us why you like or don't like this club, suggest changes, give ideas, etc. We hope to bring variety to LFS when it needs it the most. In the time of growing. Hopefully this club will become even more popular than it already is. But for that, we need your help.

Technical Problem Contacts:-
The technical contacts for the OCC and OCC2 servers are:-
  • SamH - OCC web control panel, server crashes, config change requests.
  • mkserve - OCC web control panel, server crashes, config change requests.
  • Cdsupplier1000 - OCC server crashes, config change requests.
You're welcome to PM any/all of us, in the event of technical problems associated with access to the OCC. Please remember that we're only technical facilitators, not OCC owners. Discussions about rights/wrongs, combos and cars, weather... yada yada... all should be addressed with the OCC owners (everyone) in the OCC subforum.

Cheers!

Server Migration: Fri 25th Aug
The Odd Combo Club's LFS servers have been successfully migrated to a new, and much more powerful server as of this evening.

We had noticed some people were experiencing lag on the server, and the server had been erratically dropping connections over the last couple of weeks. We tried to work with our bandwidth providers as long as we could, but in the end we were left with no choice but to swear profusely at them, call them rude names, leave abusive messages on their mobile devices and take a dump on the windscreens of their cars.

We secured a new leased server in the Redbus datacentre, in London's Docklands this week, and have been progressively migrating game servers there over the last two days. Tonight we completed the migration by moving the OCC and OCC2 servers to the new box.

I'd like to apologise on behalf of Dave - one of our guys - to the 20 people he accidentally kicked out of the OCC server when he mistakenly logged out of the RDC connection, thereby effectively shutting down the old server completely. He's really sorry. Well, he THINKS he is. When I see him next, he'll truly know the meaning of "sorry"

Thanks for understanding. Well.. thanks for reading
Sam
