Nova's really good circuit layouts
(166 posts, started , go to first unread)
As we roll into 2020, I'd like to thank everyone for your continued support! This year may be a slow one for me, hence I don't expect much as of late in terms of time to make new layouts.

Ideation takes time and I'm sure I will have the opportunity to craft more circuits. With the ongoing work being done by the Scavier team, I look forward to porting over the layouts or creating new, more dynamic ones to complement the lighting system next year.

I hope you have enjoyed my layouts, and, once again, thank you!
Nova's Layouts Part 19

Aston Cadet X Banana Custom Chicane

This is a revamp of a custom layout first pioneered by cargame then the Master Race Car (MRc) team for the [MRc] FBM Saturday event this Saturday, 29th February. A refurbished chicane, retaining walls and an overall fast and snappy layout makes for close racing with plenty of overtaking spots!

Nova's Layouts Part 20

Fern Bay Club Long (Fern Bay Cadet F11)

Quote from MicroSpecV :Astonishingly, this is the 20th layout! I'd like to once again thank everyone who has been supporting this mini layout series and offering up ideas and using the layouts. Never would I have thought I'd craft 20 of these, let alone 2! Race on!

The Fern Bay circuit has always had a tarmac zone just past the main straight of the Club layout. Making use of it births a new course - Club Long! For older racers, a similar configuration using the guise Fern Bay Cadet would have been routed this way.
This course, which is an extended version of the standard Club configuration that takes drivers down the left through the 180 degree right corner behind the trees before emerging onto the now longer start/finish straight!

A track with many overtaking opportunities and a slipstream delight, choose your car to race!

*Reversed layout included in attachment

I hate to dissapoint you,but that configuration is known as Fern Bay Cadet (F11) - unfortunatelly the unofficial layouts thread has lost it's graphics,so there are barely any references left about it.
RTFR has run this configuration 4 times already, first appearance was back in 2011 in 13th RTFR with RB4,while one of the events hosted a race with XRR - track felt quite suited too.

No worries, I'll edit the header to include this info!
Layout Racing League Season 2 is go!

The return of the long-awaited LRL is back! Bigger, better and more fun! Season begins 2nd May, Saturday. Test race this Saturday, 18th April!

Featuring 12 custom built tracks, Layout Racing League puts drivers through new surroundings and provides action-packed racing! For more info,

As we near the middle of 2020, I have to ask;

"What tracks would you like to see in LFS, and do you have any track requests of such?"

With the whole Coronavirus shambles, everything has gone under, from working from home, to studies being conducted from your desk, which meant loads of projects and workload for me. Struggling to cope is one thing, but I do hope to see through with new layouts in the future!

Now, back to the question above, only 2 requirements before you send a request!
1) Circuit should be able to fit into either Autocross X, Blackwood X (container yard), Westhill X (carpark) or any other big open space (specify)
2) Circuit must be able to be produced with the max object count!

Till next time!

Green Plains Karting International

Thank you to those who suggested tracks! Some of which were impossible to do, whilst others (ideas) were actually quite cool. Then it stuck me - why did I not think of making a karting circuit?

Presenting the Green Plains karting circuit, a fully-fleged MRT-based kart heaven with fast flowing corners and several overtaking opportunities and a unique pit. Have a go in tossing the smallest and most nimble vehicle in LFS around or take something bigger to tame on this tight, flowing track.

Have fun!

*Two track versions have been updated and published - one for FBM, and one for FOX. The latter has a wider geometry in Turn 1 and a big run-off at final chicane to accommodate the inevitable 40-grid race Tongue
**Fox Friday2 has a different pit entry.
