CITYLIGA 8 hours of Rockingham International

Dear LFS Community,

Due to the success of the last couple of events, we once again have decided to run an endurance race, our fifth event of that type, after the end of Cityliga 22!

Conveniently, a new track was released at the start of the year with Rockingham finally being made available to us all. So what would be more fitting than running an endurance race there. Just as last time, we will run an 8 hour long race, with GT2 cars, around a slightly modified version of the Rockingham International [RO7x] circuit that bypasses the oval T1 chicane, to make sure we have a safer pit exit. For a change, the first of this year's endurance races will also take place on a Sunday for the first time, with the start time adjusted accordingly to make sure people don't fall asleep when they're at work the following day. All teams and drivers are welcome to enter, regardless of whether you have taken part in CL22 or any Cityliga season ever, come along for what will be a good, old endurance race!

Unfortunatly we did not reach our self-imposed sign up limit of 16 teams. This means that the event will not happen as planned. So that your practice doesn't go to waste, we will do a smaller substitute event. As planned, we will meet on the server (CityLiga Grid 1) at 13:00 CEST (UTC+2). We will build the grid accordingly to the tracker followed by a 2 hour race. In this event the individual drivers of teams can also compete individually, but driver changes are also possible. If you have to rejoin the race again (e.g, after a rollover), you also get your laps back (minus one penalty lap).

BALANCE OF PERFORMANCE

FZR: 20% air restriction

XRR: 23% air restriction + 10kg of ballast

All information about the event can be found here in the Cityliga subforum! Should you have any questions feel free to ask!

I hope this gets as many sign ups as the 10 hours of Westhill. Smile
I hope those many people who sign up also turn up. Smile
Yay!
Aww, i wasn't first to spam random stuff Frown

Anyone want to create a team with me?

Good moveThumbs up That chicane is hell.

Looking great all aroundSmile
Why is this only here, not in CL forum too?
I hope there will be a few dates for testraces, because it is new track and stuff. In past the testraces have also been helpful for people to form teams.

[TC] Racing will be organising some test races beforehand. I don't have any information on those yet but when I do I'll let people know.

The idea is to run several 2 hour races during the weeks running up to the main event as well as a few sprint races to get people interested in the main event.

The plan was always to post the announcement here, wait 2 weeks and then post it over in the Cityliga forum and on our FB page.
We've decided to increase the FXR restriction to 24% for now. Restrictions are still not final though!

Added the Trailer
- The restrictions have been updated. The new restrictions are listed in the first post and are effective as of the next test race, but will remain provisional.
- The restrictions on the Grid 3 practice server have been updated.
- An updated layout has been put onto the Grid 3 server to block off some areas which shouldn't be accessible. However, driving-wise nothing has changed.

Today the qualifying started. Use the CityLiga GridQuali A Server, password is in the first post of this thread. The results of qualifying can be seen here: http://ronaldg.net/public/cl/CL8-Hours/overview.php

Read the regulation section F for all informations about qualifying.
TL;DR: You got 15 timed laps. A lap is counted as soon, as you get your first split time in you timed lap, so outlaps wont be counted. Every driver in a team has to set a time. Quali ends 1st July 23:59 CEST.

There will be Austrian F1 Grand Prix during 14:00-16:00 CEST so I guess it will decrease the number of attendance. It may be a little better idea to move the start of race 3-4 hours later...?

Well you would have also missed it, if the event would happen as planned. But we will begin as planned, 13:00 CEST. If we will start on time, you at least wont miss the end of the F1 race.

What are we going to do with our racing numbers and skins? Can I just put my regular number #04 even though I am racing with number #27 on my skin? Should individuals avoid having the same racing number?

About the F1 race. I would have avoided missing F1 race because I was not gonna start the 8h race. Sad, I think I have to watch the race while I am driving.
#19 - n3ox
You use your number as in the Team sign up stated. So multiple drivers with the same number (thereby from the same team) are allowed. We wont be strict on skins, ao as long as its not an offensive skin, you are ok.
Don't think I'll make this. I was sorta banking on Pete doing the first hours since the race starts at 7 AM my time, I hope everyone else has fun.
