S2 season procedures
There are a few rules that have changed this season, so I advice every driver (new and experienced) to read this email/post.

The following list is how an event is done, in somewhat chronological order:

Before the qualification:
  • You are automatically signed up for each event. If you are sure you cant drive (holidays) you are asked to unsign.
  • The qualification divisions will be sorted at seasonpoints (to make sure there are no big speeddifferences on each server). You can find all the information you need (what division you are in, the password for the server etc.) on the racepage.
  • There will not be any racemails sent out with the server password. You can find this information all on the website, so do look for it there and not in your inbox.
Qualifying:
  • The servers will be up all day, so you can join the server any time you want. Until the start of the qualification you are able to do some practising.
  • The qualification session will start exactly at the time specified. The time is set to 45 minutes. During these 45 minutes you are allowed to drive a maximum of 12 laps. You dont have to drive all the laps in one stint, you are allowed to pit in between. You are responsible for getting a clean lap yourself.
  • After the qualification the results from all the divisions are grouped, and the divisions for the race are determined. Racers without a time are put at the back of the field.
  • The results will not only determin the divisions, but also the gridpositions! There will be no qualifying session shortly before the race.
  • The race leader saves the replay. This replay is important in case there is a disagreement about the results.
Race:
  • Join the servers in time, so you can get some practice. Five minutes before the start of the race, the practice is ended. Now every racer will be in the 'race options menu'. The race leader will set the race time to 2 hours (or 3 hours in case of the teamevent), wind will be set to 'no wind'.

  • As said before, there will be no qualifying shortly before the race. Everyone should remember their gridposition from the site. The racer on poleposition will 'join' the list on the left first. Then number 2 joins the list. This way everyone is placed in the correct order on the grid. It is very important that this is done right. The raceleader will have to make sure that everyone joins in the right order (race leaders are advised to write down the grid or print the race-page).

  • The raceleader will ask everyone if he is ready. Only say ready if you have selected the right setup (doublecheck the amount of fuel in the setupscreen) and if you are sure you dont have to go to the toilet during the race
  • If everyone is ready, the race will start with a warm-up lap. Overtaking is forbidden.
  • There will not be a green flag given at the start of the race. The polesitter leads the warm up lap at moderate speed, everyone should be able to keep up with ease. In the last sector the polesitter will let the field get close together. In the green zone, the polesitter can start the race whenever he wants. The green zone is shown on the map at the race-page. If you browse to the race-page, you will see that the greenzone starts at the last corner, until the starting line. It is forbidden to overtake until the start finish line. Subject to change.
  • There will be no restarts if there is a crash in the greenzone. If you crash before the greenzone, you can call for a restart. The race leader will decide if a restart is really necessary. Trying to restart the race after the start is forbidden. Subject to change.
  • During the race it is forbidden to chat. I am sure there will be people violating this rule, so it might be smart to block messages, as it can be very distracting.
  • If you disconnect you are not allowed to rejoin. You should not reconnect to the server.
  • If you get stuck in the sand and really cant get out, you are not allowed to pit and rejoin. Race will be over for you.
  • After 2 or 3 hours the race is finished. Please do not start to discuss the race right after you finished. Wait till everyone is finished.
  • The race leaders will save the replay of the race and upload it to the website. All other racers should strive to save the replays too, in case of a disagreement.
