Are all the m/b drivers for chipset and etc installed in Windows?

Did you by any chance install any motherboard-specific stuff from say a CD that came with the m/b and might include something like a thermal monitor service or any service/resident app what-so-ever? It might be one such that screws up on first load as the thermal sensor access isn't initialized yet.

Also, have you looked for BIOS updates?

Do you really turn your computer off and on that often to notice this? Which also brings to mind: does it do it if you resume from either hibernation or standby?

Quote from BlueFlame :I don't recall seeing armed guards at the GP or even anything close to that kind of security.

Clarification: you don't recall seeing them on the TV broadcast of an event held at a venue that's in close proximity to an airbase and a palace and was meant to be portrayed as being held in a perfectly normal country with happy citizens.

Quote from thisnameistaken :Am I the only person here who doesn't completely despise one or more F1 drivers?

Does having a constant level of contempt which applies to the human population in general count or can the detection algorithm's threshold be tweaked and only spikes are taken in consideration?

Quote from Boris Lozac :Hm, maybe it's cultural difference, i can't call that a movie, comedies, drama, sci-fi are movies, there are actors, a plot etc..

"Movie" or "film" is like saying "book". A book can straightforwardly narrate a story (which is usually called a "novel") or it can also be an accounting ledger (which is usually called "boring"). And don't even get me started on the misappropriation of the term "drama"; technically, all movies with actors that act out a story are dramas.

Quote from Crashgate3 :Is Ian Bell, Ian 'Elite and Frontier' Bell?

No. This is Ian 'Mod For F1 2002' Bell - unrelated.

Quote from bbman :Somebody please enlighten me: apart from eerily similar handling of cars that span half a century and apparently meaningless friction percentages, what's wrong with four wheel drifts?

Nothing at all. Four wheel drifts are fun.
If, however, you are referring to the ones in the video then I'd say they look more like something a modern day 4WD car with fancy computer controlled differentials would do.

Quote from DeadWolfBones :Take Shelter. Really quite good, mainly thanks to Michael Shannon.

I second this and also recommend two other movies with Mr Shannon that I've watched sometime in the past 6 months or so:
Shotgun stories and My son, my son, what have ye done.

Quote from Yuri Laszlo :Why does Scawen speak in the third person?

It's an obscure historical reference. Given the author's anglo-saxonic upbringing I'd wager it is more Shakespearean in origin.

I've been indulging in The Twilight Zone for some time enjoying some rather original (especially considering their age) short stories and the joie de vivre of Louie having revisited it after DWB reminded me it was around.

In the meantime I've also watched:

Cowboys & Aliens - didn't quite enjoy it, the premise was promising but it jumped the proverbial shark at some point and totally lost me.

Conan The Barbarian - sword and sorcery it is. Luckily not with annoying-powermetal-stop-go-300-like action scenes as I expected it to be. All the cliches are in it; Conan was still not a bastard enough though. It's a movie you can have playing in the background and not miss a thing.

Soul Kitchen - started out great, seemed to have an interesting mix of characters and the basis for a good story but then about a quarter in they lost focus and the movie turned into a pile of boring slapstick.

Confessions - an interesting, if over the top, gander into the Japanese fixation with evil kids in a non-supernatural context for once. The cinematography, editing and camera work in this one was great - had some really nice imagery going on.

Toonwise I was surprised and impressed by Tangled, initially started it just to gawk at the graphics but some of the secondary characters really steal the show and get the giggles going.

Also saw Boris' Cinematic Nemesis and found it quite enjoyable, the characters were interesting, acting was a-ok, the cinematography was good and the soundtrack worked excellently with the pacing. Mind you, I did approach it with the director's previous Valhalla Rising movie in mind which I had enjoyed a lot and interestingly there were a few similarities in the storyline and characters - I'd venture as far to say it was the same story played out in a different context.

EDIT:
Typically, I forgot the movie that would keep my post on-topic by actually recommending something to watch:
Nueve Reinas a story about con-men with amusing characters embellished with all the synonyms of fraud, deception and swindling served at room temperature with ample backstabbing.

Quote from Kegetys :Well I put out the 10e to try it out and I have to say I'm quite disapointed with the physics. It simply goes into the "doesn't feel right" category, I cant say what's exactly wrong with it but it doesn't deliver the sensation of control and feel that you can immediately get with any sim (LFS, NetKar Pro, RFactor, RBR, GPL, etc)... With those sims, even with their different physics engines it still feels "right" and within minutes I can pick up driving with a new car (or a new sim), start to feel where the limit of grip is and so on but it's just not happening here.

Does it perhaps do that annoying thing that all gmotorish sims seem to do with the default FFB settings: transfers the loss of grip in the rear to the steering wheel?

If so, then it's worth transferring over settings from a gmotor mod with proper FFB (like Power & Glory has) since the .xml file that contains the settings for the shift2 engine have the exact same variable names as the settings in the .PLR of GTR2.
