Found this from before last years race at Kyoto national, was a pretty good race for us, as our first professional outing in a GTR league. led most of the first stint before mega lag hit us mid way through the 2nd stint. Anyways brings back fond memories.

Heiskanen follows fellow Finn into Vires Camp
25th January 2012

Only days after Matias Pikkarainen joined us here at Team Vires, Jere Heiskanen, JMH1984, has joined after a lengthy period with DRUNK Team, to further bolster the GTR line-up and boost activity. Jere, 27 and from Nokia, Finland runs his own successful business but still finds the time to practice hard for league events and enjoys the restricted GTR classes the most. Other than racing he enjoys to relax and play Badminton in his spare time. Jere plans to make his debut immediately in either the Super GT Series or GT3 Touring Car Cup. Welcome to the team Jere!

Quote from DeadWolfBones :Protests are also meant to correct bad behavior...

Then we should protest Reno for being abusive after race or would that be fruitless?

So close yet so far.
23rd January 2012

Team Vires' return to the Super GT Series in the GT300 class after being stripped of their first high ranked league win in the previous round was expected to be a quiet one. With Przemek Wdowiarz easing through from 6th in the qualifying race to win comfortably from Conquest Racing by the end of the 19 laps. Wdowiarz then qualified 6th place for the main race, and started cautiously quickly being demoted several places to outside the top 10. In the next hour a fabulous fight back ensued as Przemek fought through the traffic to get within the top 5 by the end of his stint. Despite very little training, Miro Rauti then took over the car and soon found himself in 3rd place chasing WW and Vortex down hard. A few laps later Rauti seized the lead from Lind, racing for WW, only to be demoted by lapping GT5 cars in the tricky chicane section. For the rest of the race Vires remained in a strong position, sitting 3rd only a fraction behind the battle for the lead, before it dawned on us we would run out of fuel by 1% by the end of the race. Despite Miro's best efforts the #55 car ran out of fuel approaching the final corner whilst running 3rd and coasted across the line to finish 6th overall.

Once again the Vires guys had the pace to win the race and was robbed of a strong finish by a small mistake. Small advertisement for the league, I urge anyone who loves close, hard competition to sign up for the Super GT Series in either the GT500 class or the GT300 class, it never fails to disappoint, or if racing isn't for you - watch the stream, it is highly entertaining!

Team Vires sign Flying Finn Maddee.
23rd January 2012

Former spdoRacing driver Matias Pikkarainen has joined the ranks of Team Vires following close contacts within the Vires camp. Matias is currently serving in the Finland Army and won't be active for the next few weeks but we are looking forward to his debut! So please give a warm welcome to Maddee.

Thank you #77 SpdoRacing GT3 for blocking repeatedly before colliding with us, despite being a lap down.

Although Stanaway is in, so it's not as easy as you have made it sound - still, great that Gravity have taken him on for another year, and tech1 seems a really decent team so I wouldn't be so quick to put them down compared to Carlin. Hoping the very best for Kevin - he deserves a real shot at the championship this year.

Quote from prOmo_LTU :And he deserves a proper welcoming message in this thread.

For the sake of not spamming our own thread, a write up of our return to Super GT Series will include the official welcoming. Of course he deserves a welcome, as is tradition with all our new members, it is just some members of the community are too excited and eager to offer both parties congratulations. Im sure you all cannot wait for the write up! Also, to clear a few things up - I am James peace, only I am. I do not have any other accounts or ever will.
