Errr yeah... but I think it should be understood. Maybe pdanev didn't have enough vertical room

Quote from pdanev :I wanted to make this for the XRR, but teazR already beat me to it.
I still like the original car a lot, so I made it for the FXR, turned out quite ok I think.

FXR Sonax

Looks like you resized the side logos then rotated? Because the side decals are all warped and skewed if you did it that way.... unless it is supposed to be like that? .

Does resemble a Mazda, but for some reason I belive it is a soon-to-be Alfa Romeo model.

Probably the new BMW M3

Doesn't have to have a V8... but I guess the name "LX8" is the only reason... damn LFS naming  Would rather call it an LXR.

The LX could easily be made into a faster performance car with loads of power (motorcycle engine) and low weight. Slap on some slicks, a rollcage and better suspension and you'd be good to go. Would be a popular car imo... because it has roadcar characteristics with formula car precision.

Yeah that is the problem with the GT2 plan, because the cars have such huge tires AND too much available downforce... the cars really don't need much downforce in order to be quick because the tires compensate (And the slower speeds from the power restriction).

They need to be 'on the limit' to make them fun... but they feel like you are just giving them 80% throttle and that is it. Would be fun to race other GT2 cars like this... but I still don't think they feel proper.

Quote from zui2000 :It´s a good idea, but only 17 cars in the most popular class GT1?
Don´t forget, three teams or more from the LFS GT want to be part of the MoE on next season.

I think it is a 50/50 decision right now if we are actually going ahead with a GT1 and GT2 season OR just all GT1 cars.

Something you have to think about is that many of the teams that are in GT1 are the fastest teams around in LFS, and likely there will usually only be about 5 or 6 fast teams in GT1 that are truly contending for the top 3 spots of the championship. Everyone else will be slower teams of course, and trying to get a good result... That is why (like mentioned earlier in this thread) if you have a full grid of GT1 cars, it just isn't fun for a team to be in 30th position for just one class. If you divide it up to something like 18 GT1 and 13 GT2 (31 total), then that is plenty for the GT1 class to be a part of, and enough for GT2 to have a good battle also.

The only problem right now is the lack of interest in testing the GT2 type car with different specs. It isn't 'quite' what MoE wants for a different class because they look the same and all we are doing is just changing the weight and power... but it is the only option MoE has at the moment to making a nicer multi-class series. If GT2 doesn't have much of an interest, then unfortunately MoE might have to forget about the whole idea and just do a large 31 car grid of GT1 cars.... which is pretty lame to be honest. But seeing that the GT1 cars are the only thing teams and drivers will be the most comfortable with (since it is the standard car people are used to), having all GT1 cars might be what happens. Unless of course we can magically get a new set of GT2 cars from Eric, but I highly doubt that is going to happen . And the FWD GTRs are not even close to something we'd want.

I see IGTC or whatever putting in a second class that is 300 bhp GTR cars... but that is just WAYYYY too underpowered and slow, and I have a feeling it might not really be that successful for or desirable for teams/drivers... simply because they don't have many hours under their belt for driving such a different machine.

ALL MoE needs right now is just some decent testing results for the GT2 class car, and then we can make adjustments accordingly. Then a GT2 class could be ready to go and teams would have a few months to prepare before the first race in September.

Blah, the LFS series seems to be going ok. I haven't had enough attention with it since Friday because my internet went kaput on me Finally fixed now, I hope!

I think its weight is just fine. Nobody has realy put it to the full test though.

Driving the XRR is still pretty much the same as it always has been, so don't complain about tires or fuel. The FXR is still the same too, but should at least be able to keep up only a slight bit now... though the tires are still crap.

The FZR is FINE with +100kg, and possibly very even with the two other cars. All you need to do is sort out your setup a tiny bit, and then move the wieght ballast to the front or rear depending on how you've set the car up. I've found that the weight need to go towards the front a slight bit, and then the car feels fine. You also have to realize that you need to lower the downforce a few clicks on both ends because of the added weight... or else you just have too much drag added on.

The FZR is still very competitive, and +100kg is just enough to figure out if it is too little or too much. I've done some long endurance stints with a MoE setup I have, and it is the same in terms of tire wear and fuel usage (could do same amount of laps)... just the times were slightly slower --- the way it should be.

Quote from GP4Flo :The devs had their reasons why the LX8 and MRT6 got scrapped. The LX8 was really undrivable (way too much power with zero downforce), try to increase the LX6s power with LFSTweak to see what I mean. The MRT6 was just slower then the MRT5 because of it's downforce - and who would choose a slower, similar looking car over the faster one?

However, at the TIME, the physics of the slicks and tires felt like crap. I'd bet the LX8 feels MUCH better now.

Quote from Blackout :Sure, but drive head one with one in LFS with moderate speed. Feels a bit too heavy for a piece of plastic versus several hundreds of kilos.

Nice bump btw.

I don't feel anything at all... just a slight tap? LFS just flicks them off the ground like little crumbs.... they are weightless.

Pootie is right when it comes to hitting a cone in LFS... and in reallife the cone should be REALLY hard and get stuck under your car most of the time.

If you want to choose a skin for yourself, you put it in your skins folder, like you always have. It really is no different than what we had before... except while you are playing the game it will temporarily make a DDS skin in the skins_dds folder... and that isn't something you'd need to worry about --- just leave that folder alone .

You should NOT be seeing skins from the skins_x or skins_y in your own browsable menu in the LFS garage.

If you are trying to put a high quality skin in the skins_x directory, that should work afaik. Just put them in there, and it should do the same... it will make a DDS file in the skins_dds folder. The skins_dds folder is like a sub storage area that is just used by LFS. It's all explained in Scawen's post.

Wow hmmm, interesting looking layout, me likes

Interesting what new circuits are being built now too. This is another F1 Circuit that will come soon in 2009: Abu Dhabi

It is ALSO a harborside circuit... hmm. Bernie must be running a seaside drug cartel or something
