Thanks for input, it was not related to the files, but if Ididnt try to change them I would not have discovered it was a different folder running LFS then the one that was suppose to be..

there is some / command in LFS, I remember seeing someone post, about "reloading skins" what is it?

Still does not work... even with dds from working folder

I also tried adding the $3 pounds... that is a no go as well.

None of the skins had DDS files... on the "broken" computer...

Currently attempting to copy dds from working, to broken...

Not an ONLINE game, it is setup LOCAL.

The skins I am trying to use are already in the skins folder, so not trying to download them.

This is so messed up....

If I run just one instance of LFS, and change the skin it works fine its in the list of skins to choose.. etc...

So I went through and exited lfs properly with all my players, with the correct skin, so it would save changes.

Then reloaded with my script, and it goes back to not wanting to use any skins... yet it is using my old skins from before, just not the new ones.

wtf...?

I am setting up my computers for an event.

The skins are working fine on the main computer.

They are NOT loading on the second, not even showing up... when choosing to change colors.
Skins on the other PC are not showing up.
Enabling skin downloads asks me to have credit in LFS... have not needed this before.

I have the skins in the skin folder already, and they are even in my online skin folder.

What am I missing?

My pizza car looks stupid now... so I will be using these 3 instead of mine.

I will likely only use the BLUE pistons car, so there is 1 for each team.

So that is 3 for teams, and 3 for pizza.... hmm what else could be done with the last 2? hmmm

Racer Y, I was just thinking out loud/text as I typed it...
I have been in the position of being told what to do by a client. I use to do 3D modeling for a Jewelry casting company in Rhino and Matrix. Some requests were odd... like make this spherical object, less boxy. or... Put this 4mm stone, inside this 2mm wide area... but make that area narrower. or... make it more fragranty... umm what? its gold.

The rest should all be Caesar pizza products... any skins made with VR on them, will only be used at car shows and birthdays... or maybe for the AI to drive...

I expect ADESA skin to be black text on white background so it can be color changed. Hopefully in the future, LFS, will have a color pallet value allocated as a background color (clear), that can change without changing the whole graphics color. The smaller ADESA group will likely want to change cars... oh well only need the one skin.

Just re-wired all my cockpits, so hopefully when I do indoor events it will be easier to setup. Luckily everything seems to be working after being frozen in the trailer.

They seem to want my Pizza car again, so that is one less skin I need.
Plus they want the skins to focus more on the pizza products now that there are team cars.

So, I will replace the 8th car with an ADESA car skin. This is an event I have in a few days. I need a universal skin that works with the generic car colors I use for the players.

Could also ad a variable for headlight shake, older cars headlights are lose and flop around... this could be increased as the car takes damage to the point it falls out, or shines into the trees. lol

Also, they spent a LOT of funds to bring back the old Fox Theatre in Detroit. So anything related to this fox theatre would also be acceptable. There are others across the usa, and are unrelated.

Now that the snow is finally gone, I hope... I am getting the trailer out of storage... and cleaning up inside it was a mess after I just shoved stuff in there after last event.


So far I have 3 events booked, and they are all events that request setup indoors, without the trailer. Maybe this is how I should be doing it... but so much stuff to move its like moving a house each event. lol

I know its not the standard, but I usually type a capital V and R when I type my .com

the LFS logo itself, would be acceptable, but I would prefer to keep their companies as the only ones on the car.

Looks really good, far better then mine, if you use anyone else's skins as a base make sure you have permissions from them. Not sure if there is any taboo, or bad luck with mirroring the redwings logo though.

When I started mine, the red/white was how the jerseys where divided, well kind of... lol

Is the primary sponsor/company, some of the players from the team may be signing autographs at the event.

They should be somewhat global, and in other countries, like McDonalds is, I just do not know which.

At this time, the only logo images I have, are the ones out on the internet, that is where I got mine. I do realize this makes it difficult for those not in the USA, who do not know what this pizza company is, or who the teams are.

I am still working on getting logos, or at least more info on what they want as far as the pizza products. They are still trying to think of what to put on the car... so they do not have anything specific yet.

The car will be the same car in my video, its the only easy but still fast car there is that is good for just about every new player.

This contest is currently a work in progress.

I will be setting up my simulators at an event that would like custom skins on the cars, related to their clients and businesses. I made a few for this client last year, however while mine were acceptable, there is a LOT of room for improvement, however I do not currently have the patience to try to do better. So I am going to outsource in the hopes of getting something better.

I need 8 different Car skins, that can be easily identified from each other.

I would like to be able to tweak the colors a little if needed.
I would like to be able to slap a number on them some where, from 1-10, Ideally they should all have a uniform and matching "white box" for the number


All of the cars should have a little Cesar's pizza product mentioned... hot and ready, etc....
This is the primary focus.

Some can be a mix of Cesar's and:

Detroit Red Wings in redwings colors: RED & WHITE

Detroit Tigers in tigers colors: BLUE & ORANGE
I was going to do a car with all tiger stripes...

Detroit Pistons colors: red, white, blue

However, really good skins that I can use for any Virtual Raceways events on any car, that I can easily use the slider to change the color of, may result in more than 8 entries





I will be the sole judge, on what I want to use or show my client.
It is possible that I wont like any of them, because I am VERY picky. lol...
It is also possible that I will like all of them, but only the 8 that best suit my needs will be
chosen. The more likely it would be a skin on a real race car the more I may like it...


Multiple Entries will be accepted, so a really good quick artist may get all 8 spots.


If I use a car for an event, I will give a prize for it.
I am expecting to give out LFS vouchers equivalent to an S1, so a demo user would need to win 3 slots to get S3. Thinking of other things to give...


How to enter, has yet to be determined... maybe to start with posting a reply for each skin with some screen shots of it, or a youtube video like I did above.


Save your master image with layers, I may want something tweaked or fixed, removed, or to add something.


I will need them before the event, about May 1st, plus or minus a few days.
