As begged in off-topic.. Nothing fancy, just constructed the pattern for filling and ripped a t-shirt logo. Someone could make better

I think it could be a fine time for the winner to come from Africa.

I bet Togo. (Just because the "I told you!" factor is considerably high with Togo )

After that I tryed to catch up "Ragamuffi" but my times were too inconstant even if I did the secend best lap.

Yeah, that Ragamuffi dude was pretty solid I managed to gain position no. 5 and was about steady 3-5 seconds behind the 4th position. I managed to rip the difference to 6th place holder 'muffi to about 8-9 secs, when during the last ten laps I had major problems getting past a racer who was a lap down and few tenths of a second slower than me. Somewhere during those laps I hitted a wall and knocked toes out from three wheels.
That wasn't enough of course, so I broke front right suspension (not totally: the meter was halfways) and that hurt lap times a bit. If it would have been one more lap, then I would've lost my place atleast to Ragamuffi.

Nice race No complaints, besides the usual

Gotta say one thing. Finnish people don't do smalltalk. At all. The minimalism of gestures but maximalism of their meaning in silent communication is an artform in here.

The words are pronounced as they're written, but the letters are still pronounced differently than in English (for example). That's why it's hard for foreigners to pronounce Finnish properly (or for the Finnish politicians to pronouce English...)

I love this new patch, great work!

The MRT was fun previously, since it required so precise and consistent handling. Getting several clean laps in South City was very rewarding. The MRT is even more fun now, whole new level. While not so punishing anymore, it gives more freedom and with freedom comes speed.
I always loved the LX's and now they're perfect.

Used the "patch Q era" setups in UFR-SOSprint1 combo and while the setups were clearly "wrong" I managed to beat my best time by over a second. This new patch brings a nice addition: setups has to be built again. Me likes

Also few things I don't like about. It seems that wheelanimation has to be enabled in open wheelers (not mrt) to see gear-rpm-speed info. I have kind of a "mid-to-low end" computer, so I liked to race without wheel animation and add few fps's. Still, I think I like it better this way in perspective of simulation. This is no biggie. Another thing is that I miss the "clutch on while holding gear shift button down". Now I can't rev excessively without reaching the keyboard

Pool 4.

What can I say, best olfsl race ever Started from 12th, finished 2nd. No mistakes, just took easy until people spinned in front or made mistakes. Last 5-6 laps where nice: got the second place and totally open road ahead. That feels so good.

Quote from Renku :car will be damaged and there is a good chance that they have to use the reset function, too.

Oh, and resetting isn't allowed with this combo, right?

If one drives the T1 just a bit wide and wants to avoid spinning and maintain some speed, then one will most certainly hit those barriers on right (the second ones in the picture). In my opinion the obstacles on left (both ones) are totally unnecessary, since cutting those corners that deep is a pretty large risk in itself.

There shouldn't be more obstacles on that track-car combo, since spinning is very likely to happen and the walls and very small safetyareas are nuisance enough.

Then again, I just suck at driving and it might very well be that no-one else sees these things problematic.

Well, since my name came up, I decided to check the replays.

What I could make of the T1-incidents, I can sincerely say: what a mess. I admit that I made mistakes there and I ain't blaming anyone else for them. I can only say, that I did what I did to keep the car safely under control and tried to avoid causing physical harm to anyone. Unfortunately it seems that I failed in that.

I look forward to the next race and let the staff cast their judgement on things that happened

Started from 8th, finished 3rd. Start went pretty well, managed to keep the rig under control and had clearly better start than the racer in front of me. Had to take outside lane to T1 and brake a bit early. Then ofcourse someone hitted my rear left, knocking it's toe off balance. Managed to keep control again, but there was some spinning in front of me and so I slightly hitted someone with my front left. The result: fifth or sixth after lap 1 and bent toes.

Car wanted so desperately to go right all the time. It wasn't anywhere near impossible to drive, but hard anyways. Turning was easy, but the two long straights were a burden. Driving with joystick didn't help either...

Made a two driving mistakes, both 'cause of the toes. People behind me did get pretty close, but then they all dropped out. Was third at one point, made the second mistake, but then someone from top three had bud luck and so I climbed to third.

I liked this combo very much. These kind of events suit me: I think I could've battled for pool victory if i hadn't damaged my car. This was pretty much like the skill driving comp. Not about speed, but stability, endurance and precision.

Yellow flags are also one thing that need attention. Ease down everybody on yellows; there's most likely a car or few sideways behind next corner.

This is fabulous combo, since it really calls for different setups for hotlapping and racing.

Quote from russraine :As well call it a lag lap, why not do one whole lap?

That wouldn't be very fluent with longer tracks.

Worst thing that can happen in lagstart is that the start goes really well. Then it's time to start again and well, "lightning won't hit the same spot in a row very likely, with strictly given circumstances"

Heh, nothing personal (or dead serious for that matter ), but isn't this "I'm completely aware of the situation and can still drive as fast as possible" attitude the main cause of most real life crashes?

Hope this belongs here..

Since the lagstart came up in the BL2 thread, I thought to insert my thoughts here.
Laglap is very good thing and it should be normal thing to be done in the beginning of every race. How long should it be depends quite much which the track-car combo is. About 20-30 seconds (at tops) could be nice: almost all cars should have passed T1 and maybe couple more turns.

I also suggest that the transition from lagstart to real start should be made with /restart instead of going back to "lobby screen". It might be bit confusing for some at first, but I think it could be more "safer" considering lag-problems. At least I think so.

My 'puter is definately too poor for hi-res -racing, but with tuning the details down, I manage to reach pretty decetn fps's.

Celeron4 2.6GHz
512 ram
Radeon 9200 (Club3d)

First laps in both starts provided some notches before and during the first chicane, but after that I had no problems with frames per second. Tuned the dust all the way down.

One issue could have been, that many hadn't actually rallycrossed very much at all and in different servers.

I personally think that the obstacles were only a positive thing. They didn't interfere with raceline and brought the driving more close to consistency and skill (if anuone understand what I mean).

Thanks to hosts and other staff

Now how was it...

Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family, Choose a funky big television, Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed-interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure wear and matching luggage. Choose a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing sprit-crushing game shows, stuffing junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing you last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, f***ed-up brats you have spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life.

Using teamskins without team-membership is just not worth it. It just have to be looked at this way: how many could wear the Hell'sAngels colors, participate in a bikerally and not get some (seriously) bad karma?

Another issue is the thing about copyrights. It actually is an issue with our world-wide society and the perspect of individuals. Everyone has to get somekind of "reward" from the stuff they've created, or at least no-one else should gain from the works that I've done, without me getting "whats rightly mine". I don't deny those things. I admit that it bothers me a lot, if someone "uses my ideas or creations" and takes all the credit. That just sucks. I'm a lot less negative, if the (ab)user atleast give me credits for my original work (don't care that much about money ).

What I'm trying to say, is that skins can be modifed or "sampled", if the credits for original creation(s) is given. Ofcourse if someone says "don't" then don't. Not a biggie, not the end of the world.

Kind of like in sample-based music... Besides, everything has already been invented and created

Darn, did that take stamina or what?

Joystick is still going to be my driving device, since now I have to invest in a new office-chair Darn thing broke on about laps 31-33. Took over a minute to sort out another one. Driving while standing is pretty hard, even with a stick

Nice race, although bit boring for me (except the chair-episode). Personaly I don't find the GTR-class very entertaining.
