Ok, I can agree on the way you put it there, but I like very much the risk of full course yellow, simply because it´s a strategic option. Formula one, Nascar, Champcar and Le Mans has it in real life. It could be interesting to read the "real" procedure and rules about this, so it could be copied.
I know, that those, who are fastest, don´t like it so much, because, they will probable always win, if they didn´t have this full course yellow periods or heavy accidents. But even the fastest guys can work on strategy against each other under these yellow flag periods. The one who is third can because of a very good strategy suddenly lie in front...and the rivals speculations about "do they need a pitstop or not?" is a very exciting aspect of races.
It´s simply much more funny for all, when everybody in the whole field has a chance to gain some positions by strategic skills. Then it´s not just always the same ones, who win. And during a season, there can still be excitement to the final race. It´s so boring when you already know the winner(s) after some few races. Then people can begin not to care anymore..don´t show up etc.
I think the ideal is, that shift + s is a call for a tractor which comes and bring you to garage. Then the repair should start from there and you can go. If it´s not possible to make a tractor, it could just be like a countdown, "transporting"...2 minutes or so.
Safety car and full course yellow is part of the game and it makes the whole thing much more interesting. It is an important factor in the teams strategy. Like in the Champcar series and Nascar, where people are so much more familiar with it. In Europe we are not so much familiar to it, because we watch more Formula 1 and they use full course less than in Nascar and Champcar.
But in any case, rules are the same for everybody. Sometimes it gives an advantage, and other times it doesn´t. Just part of the game. Learn to take advantage from these yellow flag periods!
I´m against that idea, which say that race only is about speed. No way! It´s also strategy, teamwork, consistancy, and much more!
IGTC race n. 2
Our car 15 will complain about 11, 16 og 5.
They were continuesly fighting for positions under the rolling start. There were contact and especially car n. 11 kept on taking our position. This is what we especially can´t accept. It´s bad discipline for future races.
Thanks for the race!
But I am very disapointed on how MANY drivers didn´t respect full course yellow. Already in the running start we got passed..and hit! During the race, under full course yellow, some drivers were pushing our car from behind in several seconds even that they pushed me into the car in front. What in earth is the idea with that? ....and what kind of behaviour is this?
Several time I have seen cars passing under full course yellow. If this rule about passing should be respected in the future, people has to be punished with 30 sec in the final result. If people by accident passes another, you hould go back immediately to your correct position. It happened to me once.
for unity-racing.com I would like to add Jimmy larsen (generalen33) to this saturday event, instead of me, Kenn Cramer (I have to work). Maybe there will come more drivers,. then I write again.
I don´t think that green flag is the right thing, because we are not allowed to pass before the pole car has passed the line. I suggest instead a BIG text in the middle of the screen saying. Safetycar away! Go!
Unity-racing.com is the name of the new team. In short UNITY.
Unityis founded by me, Kenn Cramer, also teamleader for Team VCS, but VCS is a pure danish team.
Unity is meant as an international team. We have just started to join in the IGTC 4 hours Le Mans.
The idea with this team is to become strong by building it up with people, who likes to work together, train seriously (with humour) on our new server and participate in interesting races.
The name Unity is meant seriously. Things have to work together. We are not interested in drivers, who just want some fun or doesn´t want to involve themselves in the team. It´s both giving and taking. Not just taking,...and fun goes together with seriousness. :tempted:
Well, but of course, we want some drivers, so feel free to contact me. Use PM please. (Click on my user name and a menu apears)
Our web is soon to be up and our server Unity-racing.com is already running
Even it went up and down from 11th to 6 and then back to 8th position(because of 2 punctures, 1 drive through and some picknics on the grass, it was an interesting race with the flags etc and especially because it´s an endurance. Super!
Well, I have just booked 15 TS slots, together with a server, but I have not looked at how it works or what do do, for it to work. I will try now. But if any other have another TS, and know how it works, it must be better.
I will see, what i can find out here, in the meantime.
