My truly stupid 1st posts went with old RSC to the heaven.
I've actually searched for them about a year before it went kaboom
and thought what the **** was I thinking at that time.
Well, you can't really say there's a definite top of tops.
Some of them sound excellent for some type of music (classical, jazz...), and some have a right sound for other type of music (rock, metal...).
And then there's the human perception of the sound coming out of the headphone.
It's complicated (like pretty much anything. )
Also, it's just marketing when you hear "The most clear sound you'll ever expirience" and stuff like that. NEVER trust what a company tells you, just the results.
Maybe your firewall is blocking UDP and allowing only TCP?
Seems logical to me considering what boothy said that those servers you see use only TCP.
If you can't figure out your way trough firewall, please tell us which one you're using.
If you didn't install any additional firewall software, what is your operating system?
Seems like you have open ports to communicate with master server.
Could you take a screenshot of a multiplayer lobby (see screenshot for example) and upload it either here, www.imageshack.us or a similar site?
I think he wants current map, because being lost on that one doesn't mean much when he can't play it.
Btw, I was lost too yesterday and night was sneaking on me so I took shelter in someones place (can't remember who).
Then I think I menaged to find spawn, but night creeped on me again.
I went inside Aarons place I think and left the server (had to leave quickly).
I hope you guys don't mind, but I had all my inventory on me and being lost at night can't be good.
Then again, demos are usually demonstrations of a complete full game, not WIP preview or something.
But we all are aware that is not always the case.
As for the poor port debate, with Cryengine 3 they don't make ports as such.
They make the game, engine compiles it for different platforms (Xbox, PS3, PC). Like Unity does for PC, Mac, iPhone, Xbox(?), etc.
The point of selling on steam is so we have more fresh blood (to populate the racing servers). With your suggestion, we would see "just" a bigger cash flow for the devs and some extra bills. Separating community into two or more is never a good idea.
That's true. Eza did that test, and biggest FPS boost came from CPU with biggest cache.
Edit: Aparently, that username doesn't exist. It's been long time since I saw him. I'm sure it's along those lines.
I believe there are games on steam that require double and more amount of RAM than 512.
It's probably just safety overhead, so they don't get complaints if it doesn't work with 256 or whatever.
Also, did you check it with just steam or when there's a game playing in backround? Steam process might use more if there's a steam game active too (just a random thought).
Edit: Also. mine uses 69 MB atm, just opened it and checked.
Edit2: It's 75 now. (gonna stop updating post, too)
Well, we're probably gonna have to wait for S3 and count on good PR like Vykos and others did back in the day.
Scawen also said (long long time ago, probably on old RSC) that LFS won't be properly advertised (by Scavier) until the game is finished. Maybe they changed their minds in the mean time, but I don't think we're gonna hear anything official on the subject at hand (hope I'm wrong, tho).
