I'm supposed to go dust off stuff and smash that F5? If you insist. :3
Seriously, tho. Nice that both of you are excited to work on it again, makes me happy as well.
Back to LFS in VR and new physics/graphics/content... but...
I peek in after many moons (as I usually do to creep around for new stuff) and now Eric posts? And hypes up new tire physics? Am I dreaming? :eye-poppi
Goddamn... it's been over 10 years now since I first played this game. Jesus...
I've stopped playing quite some time ago, but still check the forum now and again hoping to see some news on dev progress. C'mon, do it already!
Anyway, I'll probably dust of my POS DFP once VR and/or new physics kick in.
As for what happened over last years for me... uh, not Rally Pack, let me tell you that!
ArmA 2 is an army simulator (I guess it's called like that).
DayZ is a mod for ArmA 2, which in now being made in a standalone game.
First alpha of the standalone DayZ is out by the end of the year.
If you're not into ArmA type of games, wait couple of months. =)
Visibility at night really depends on moon shine(if there's any moon at all, is it overcast and how much, and if it's foggy).
I play on 1.7.2.5. and beta 96061 ATM, had both "can't see shit 1 meter ahead" and "can snipe people perfectly 400-500+ meters ahead" nights, as I always did.
Brightness/gamma trick won't help much/at all if there's no moon out.
First snow today on close by mountain(ish), and on my regular destination on the Alps. Hooray!
When I saw yesterday no snow on Alps, I got a bit depressed, but all is good now.
They update the cheat protection at whatever time they can if it doesn't require uncompatible patch.
Scawen stated somewhere in the latest reports (when they did update the cheat protection last time) that some parts he can't fix without uncompatible patch.
If that happened hotlappers would rage on here and so on.
Short answer: they do care, but sometimes it's not possible to please everyone.
