Povo the Irish insurance companies dictate what kind and age of car you can drive? wtf? Old cars are usually slower and less expensive to fix as well as already having made their 'carbon footprint' many years ago. Weird logic there considering a 1987 Volvo 240 is probably the best car ever for young drivers.
I could have insured 1959 Ferrari 250 GT at 18 if I had thousands of dollars per month to do so.
I'm confused, are you all saying that the Russian separatists did not get their equipment and training from Moscow, and that Russia is in no way involved in the current state of affairs in Ukraine? That's quite a ploy.
Shot down and blown out of the sky are both idioms. Biden is well known for his poorly descriptive language and basically sounding like a demented and slightly drunk old man.
If Russia had evidence of innocence they would be shouting it from the rooftops, but they cannot refute evidence of cooperation between Moscow and rebel artillery crews on that day and time. Occam's razor.
Particular and complex circumstances... I kind of like that the international community would like to know whether rebels shooting down a jet with Russian assistance is an accident or an act of war against all involved countries.
I thought there was no one left who could both speak and understand dutch the way it's shown in textbooks, everyone switched to English.
P.S. That was a great idea BUT watch out the reputation Dutch have for honesty and frankness in their speech doesn't translate well into English. If you're going to say anything not approved by the thought police you should really just say it in Dutch.
That's why we need real info, if Russia really is invading then we're living in the most apathetic world ever. Russia already annexed another region and the world yawned. But if the US suddenly took Ontario it would be WWIII (makes me think we should take Ontario....). I guess that means Crimea (and Crimeans) aren't worth anything? Does that also apply to Ukrainians? The world was counting on America to protect the inviolability of sovereign borders. It doesn't help that the US, UK, and Germany would like to pull Eastern Europe completely out of the influence of Russia, yet has nothing whatsoever to offer except New World Order economics and unlimited Muslim immigration. No wonder no one cares, Ukrainians are between a turd and another turd.
So the aid convoy turned out to be not associated at all with the red cross. Now Russian artillery is firing under the separatist flag. Wish I could get some straight news but what media outlets are not wildly speculating are spreading misinformation and hoaxes. Sites like twitter and tumblr are by far the worst. Anyone have a first (or second) hand report of what's going on as of today?
So when Russia shoots down and kills 300 non-involved civilians its a perfectly understandable accident, but its somehow also America's fault, and Ukraine's, but definitely not Separatists. Good to know.
Also mentioning Israeli war crimes... Is Hamas launching missiles indiscriminately against civilian targets and using children as human shields and their corpses for retweets to be considered war crimes?
The west doesn't want Ukraine. Why add another third world economy to an already failing system? Russia doesn't want Ukraine, the status quo was working just fine for Moscow's interests. Ukrainians don't even want Ukraine. They have failed time and time again at self governance and have some of the worst corruption in the world. That's why nothing will come of this fiasco. Nobody really cares.
My station wagon sunk in a flood that happened last Halloween in Austin along with my house and everything in it (over 5 feet of water). So naturally the logical choice is to fix a 30 year old car with >260k miles that was underwater for 6 hours. I'll have pics soon. Its a big job but I'm doing a lot of the work myself. It would not be possible of the car were a newer model, but everything ruined can be cheaply replaced. Rebuilt transmission, gutted the interior, drained bout 5 gallons of water from the engine... Its a big job but I decided a while ago that the wagon would go for 1 million miles come hell or high water. Got the water.
Yes that is also an opinion. I offered evidence to the contrary in the research of man-made global warming and the well-publicised scientific corruption that goes along with it. I'll admit the stakes are much lower in this debate, and so scientists don't have a lot to gain here from an argument that is all but settled. They still should remain open to the idea that they know actually very little about the formation of our various biological systems. They do better at that than creationists. I think that parts of both theories are likely to create a more accurate whole idea. The either-or mentality doesn't help us find the truth.
Quickly about Mars; I love Mars and its potential as a new frontier for humanity, but I think people who quest to find life there will be forever disappointed. The geological history of Mars is more interesting to me than the remote possibility of life there.
Well I dunno it might be nice to have Ukraine on our friends list and off of Russia's. They have every right to profit from their own energy resources with help from whoever they want to do business with. If a stronger relationship with the West brings more jobs and personal freedom then great. If it doesn't then Russia probably won't have hard feelings taking them back.
I just don't get Russia sometimes. They have the biggest country with endless natural resources and a tiny population (per square mile) to divvy it between, if the entire rest of the world sunk into the ocean they'd be fine or better off. Kinda like us.. We have the technology and money to isolate ourselves from global affairs as well we just love sticking our cock everywhere it fits and some it doesn't. Oh well when this too comes to an end all we'll have is our bodies, our families, and our will to thrive. That's when we do our best work anyway.
Those are all good responses to arguments made by creationists.
I call us monkey meat bags because the best science we can come up with cannot definitively answer the question of our origin, or what humans were experiencing for vast portions of our ancient history. I do not discount evolution because it is well established, but we just do not know for certain what are all of the factors that led to life as we know it, and those faithful who claim to know have enormous egos and cannot be trusted entirely. Scientists are not always objective with the data, and also cannot be trusted if they have something to gain from publicising one conclusion over another. (public and private grant money) Look at the highly profitable science behind global warming. One conclusion gets public money because it generates expensive and powerful legislation, the other is discounted entirely to the point of outright hostility and hatred. It's not even a choice, going against the grain there is career suicide, just the same as scientists who examine the question of some kind of intervention in our evolutionary past.
I am ok with being a monkey meat bag, it just makes our achievements all the more impressive when we make them in spite of ourselves. We may have to accept the fact that we will never be anything more than that, even as we expand our civilization out into the solar system and produce nearly miraculous technology. It is a matter of humility.
Perhaps we monkey meat bags have as incomplete theories about evolution as we do about creationism. Life is too exquisitely engineered and complex to have spawned from the mud with no influence whatsoever imo. There are entire periods of our ancient history we know worse than nothing about because we have a knack for making shit up to see if it sounds right.
We could be expressions of an ancient beyond ancient language written in chemical code. If we found evidence of an ancient or extraterrestrial code as complex but separate from DNA we would not assume that it just appeared out of the stardust, it was created.
Getting past the rumors and half-truths, it seems to me there are a few benefits that could come out of this for Ukrainians. If this power play works out in favor of the West, corporations are already working to develop energy infrastructure for Ukraine to be less reliant on Putin. Oil shale jobs are paying young men six figure salaries in the US as well as creating local economies full of well paying jobs where few or none existed. Added to the fact that frakking throughout Eastern Europe would be a serious blow to Russia's influence over its former vassals, it also provides employment when it is needed the most. Everyone from scientists and researchers to roughnecks and computer technicians can get in on energy production and increase the power and wealth of their whole country and themselves.
Russia is not offering energy infrastructure and frakking technology to Ukrainians because they don't have it to give, and wouldn't if they did.
It seems really really far fetched to assume that neo-nazis are going to form the next Ukrainian government when there are thousands upon thousands who do not agree with that philosophy...where are neo nazis in majority power anywhere? It sounds like a myth, or giving whole credit for the overthrow to one group that was involved among many.
The united states F1 grand pix starts November 14th in Austin Tx. I fly over the COTA track every time I go out since its right off the runway, but there is a no-fly zone that week, so no aerial shots from me. Even though its an international event, the city fills up with Aussies before you can blink.
