Thx! The only thing I played and recorded is the Guitar. There still lacks Bass (and vocals hehe but that's for later)
I used Ableton Live 8.2.7.
As for VST's I used Metal Machine (EZ Drummer) for drums and mainly Nexus 2.0 for any electronic/ambiant sounds
Here is another one with this time a fake bass (I know it doesn't sound really good it's just here to give an overall idea before I record the real deal). http://soundcloud.com/jorgepinheiro/improve-dehumanize-1
There is Metal Machine on the other hand... It's a EZ plugin that is newer than DKFH
You first have to buy EZ Drummer and THEN you can buy Drum Kit From hell or Metal machine as plugin.
See here: http://www.toontrack.com/products.asp#EZLine
I even bought it because it's not really espansive (115€)
The advantage of Superior Drummer is that that you can do whatever you want with your drum sound but if you buy it, it's very espensive ^^
I'll post a Video here so I can show you Metal machine while promoting my own project hehe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v ... ;index=1&feature=plcp
And I suggest you getting ableton 8.2.7... I can give you a nice link about it by PM
@jibber pretty nice chill song you've got there
EDIT: I actually reuploaded one of the songs I posted earlier because the Pod Farm plugin didn't load on one of the channels, now it's all good! http://soundcloud.com/jorgepinheiro/the-discovery (Cyber Metal / Industrial Metal)
Actually this is the only COD that is a little bit interesting...
I mean FINALLY they try to make something a little bit different!
But I miss BF2142 This is a was a really great, original FPS with super innovative modes. I hope they'll do a 2143...
This is simply not true, even for bands using 7 Strings or even 8 String the bass is extremly important even if you don't notice it at first sigh.
And there is a ridiculously big variety of Metal bands using different tunings
As for my question. Precisly the 7th and the 8th string are the deepest ones.
The whole point of having such a guitar compared to a Baryton is, like you said, behind able to play really low tones while still being able to play on the higher ones. But I notice that alot of groups and people that have this kind of guitars never use the smallest cords. A really good example is FEAR FACTORY (If i'm not wrong the only CD where they have some kind of solos is on MECHANIZE) or Emmure.
So there must bo another advantage... Or it's just too cool to have a 7 String guitar, which I can understand :P
Why not simply buy a baryton guitar?
Unless you plan on putting some high pitch solos in your djent, a 8 (and even 7) string guitar is useless
I'm truly curious to know why some groups that never use the smallest cord have 7 and 8 String guitars... (Like Fear Factory...) There must be some kind of advantage compared to a baryton guitar ^^
