I leave the adapter plugged into my battery backup/powerbar, everything else gets disconnected and the wheel removed from the desk. Never had any issues (although, the power plugging into my G25 started to come loose and cause issues with it not receiving power sometimes, just needs a little wiggle to fix).
I've since moved up to a T500, though. Same process.
Man I'm like 1.5 seconds off of you there: 1:31.5 IIRC . I looked up the pole time for reference and it made me sad. I haven't had one good, solid lap in, though. I also can't seem to get through Ascari cleanly most of the time, I usually push way wide there. Default setup.
Started, and finished, college. Continued my career, now working for one of the best design firms in the country. Living downtown with my girlfriend (common-law) in one of the nicest buildings in the city. I'm now 26 and fairly well entrenched in being a responsible adult.
You don't need FFB to know that a slight turn of the steering wheel in one direction won't send a car spinning. You may need it to judge the feel of the finer points of the physics model, but right now, there are no 'finer points' in the physics model. It's just crap.
Oh c'mon, you and I both know that the faux standard was set ages ago. pCARS will hardly break new ground there!
My biggest gripe with it is the FFB. I can live with half-decent semi-sim physics if it's consistent and has good feedback through the wheel. I'd like it a little more realistic, but I'm not going to pretend that I can only enjoy something that's uber realistic, but it needs to have good, consistent, informative FFB or it just pisses me off trying to drive it.
That's the main reason I love LFS and AC Tech Preview. The FFB tells you something, and doesn't have random sudden jarring motions. Plus the little tire chatter under braking over the little bumps in AC gives me wet trousers. :hyper:
If there was no information coming out, people would be whining (look at these forums) so the AC devs give a relatively steady stream of updates and... people are whining.
No pleasing anyone, is there? I don't envy them, that's for sure.
I, for one, am bloody excited for this one. I'm fine with the way they're handling their public stuff, and I know it'll be released when they deem it appropriate.
As for the marketing; they've stated that they're still a relatively unknown title. That's been my concern the whole time; nKPRO was pretty good, but the community was always tiny (and that's not just because of the netcode). For AC to really be a success, they need more sales. I want this title to get big so that it can grow into a good, solid, popular base for mods.
Shockingly, I agree with BF. I find it to feel pretty damn good. As someone mentioned earlier, quite similar to LFS in fact. After a few laps I'm hooked and can't wait for the final sim to release. I just wish the TP didn't have such an abysmal circuit in it.
There was uncertainty in the wording which could lead people to believe their money was lost, and that was where the FSA (now FCA) took issue. To reinforce the notion that pCARS is not actually an investment they've publicly stated that you can get your money back at any time, right up until the release of the game.
