As most people selling these kind of lovely piece of hardware, I haven't been racing for quite some months, if not years
I am selling my Actlabs Force RS wheel along with the Performance pedals and the RS shifter (GPL Shifter).
All these where bought in 2003, in the US.
I mostly raced in LFS in 2003-2004 then basically stoped using these accessories... Too lazy to setup, using the mouse to race
I must emphasized that I am no "hard-core" sim-racer, please be assured that these items are not in "finished" conditions. To the contrary, I would say they are in very good condition !
Since then, they have been waiting gently packed in their original box.
In the process of selling them I just unpacked them and tried them with LFS; no problem at all, everything working as strong as ever... Brought back good memories
I currently live in Austria, however even shipping in Europe is not cheap
(Count ~30€ for the wheel (10kg) and ~20€ for the pedals (4kg) )
Including shipping, I would sell the whole pack for ~80€, or best offer ! Paypal/Bank transfer possible.
Let me know what you think here of via PM.
Just to add my 2€cts to what have been said before...
I miss the old days of CRC,
I miss to be able to enter a 3 or 5 laps race, in late europe time (10PM-12PM) it is hard to find, almost impossible !
I miss close and clean driving with XF and XR,
I miss Rally-X racing.
If I want to spent 30mins-1h and having fun, it is really difficult...
I have to investigate but I have also a similar problem, *I think* !
I also have a clutch and a H-shifter, and sometimes I am clearly *way* over-reving but the red dot is not ON (was ON a few seconds before, then for whatever reason it turned OFF)... It was not always like that... Maybe appears with S2...
Good Combining every request, we are moving slowly toward *my* request
The ideal thing for me would be to add a *single* new entry in each car settings that would point on a txt file containing various settings... The default name could be straightforward like fx0.txt, uf1.txt,...etc
The file could contains, as previously discussed, command to switch the control settings, but could also have the ability to change the view settings (FOV, angles, camera position,... for example) and other things I can't think of right now
Yes sir
Thank you for reading me even though I insisted a lot !
Because I didn't want to recalibrate everything, I drive the formula 1 with my H shifter
My 2cts: Every development that you make toward a *fast* immersion inside LFS is gooood for addicting people... My personal example, to play LFS, I have to install the wheel and the gearbox (Actlabs combo), so when sometimes I want to have a go but I'm lazy, I just don't play it !
The new super-fast LFS start and the future "automatic" control setting are for me important steps
Thank you again, following and supporting LFS since the *very* begining
So basically what I am saying is, the tire doesn't have a long and broad round curve when the tire flexes, it needs to have a FLAT contact patch on the ground as if it were gripping, but also be pulling to make a sideways deformation.
I couldn't find any pictures, but something like 10 years ago when the Citroen Xantia with active suspension came out, they were a lot of picture of the car cornering like mad with no roll at all; You could see tires almost jumping out of the rims, *very* impressive !
I just want to add my 2cents saying that I am also quite frustrated for not being able to start faster with an analog clutch, without making spining the wheels, compared to flooring the pedal to the metal and making spin the wheels... I dunno if I'm doing wrong or anyhting, but I never couldn't start faster "the real way"...
Yeah, me for example, I have analog clutch and full speed manual gearbox (Actlabs), I'm slower than everyone else everywhere, but who caresillepall, *I* am having a great fun making slip the clutch at the start, cornering and so forth...
so i think it's clear: patch release will be the 22nd (so f.....ing long)
The puzzle is starting to have a pretty good shape
My speculation as others mentioned earlier
* Demo of LFS will include the F1 or there will be a (small) specific LFS demo, with only BL and the F1...
* Intel-BMW-Sauber has an amazing product for their fans
* Devs have an amazing opportunity to make LFS becomes *huge* and extremely popular
So basically "Different controls for different cars" is what you (and many others want). Probably the DFP users would laav this. But I'm MS sidewinder user so I don't care
I would like to see an extra "entry" in a car setup or associates directly to a type of car; it is what controller configuration to use...
Reason is simple;
I have an Act Labs wheel, with clutch and gearstick, I would like that when I'm driving a "street" car (GTi, UF,...) LFS switch to the controller configuration type "1" (or associates with Gti, UF,...) with manual clutch, manual gearstick,...etc.
In another hand, if I'm driving a racing car, I would prefer that automatically I switch to controller configuration type "2" (or associates with car yyyy) so that I have semi automatic gears "behind my wheel".
Last example, if I'm driving a rally car (like a WRC one), I want semi automatic gears, automatic clutch and handbrake associate with my gearstick....etc !
By default, all cars could be associated to one profile and then we could have the choice to define wich controller setup is used with wich cars...
You're not on the same wavelength as the devs are...
When I first tried LFS in june 2003, the first beta, I took the GTI for a lap on BL, and there couldn't be any misunderstanding... The car handling was amazing , physics was one of the best, graphics were quite poor, but good enough to have a real *sim* experience... that's what count !
And still today, as I play from time to time, I really enjoy driving the small cars because that's what I know and that's how my car *would* react...
Did you chek GTR demo ? Maybe it suites you best
But, don't get me wrong, I understand that what you're asking for is for the "good" of LFS... But I would prefer that all the sim-racer join, not all the game-racer...
