^^^ Unreal ^^^^

Now all we need is Scawen to cast some of his multiplayer netcode wizardry towards AC -that would be even more lovely !

Quote from L3g3ndAry :If I remember correctly the liveforspeed website was originally hosted on the BlackHole Motorsports community site - I probably was made aware of LFS from BHM and then found the RSC LFS forum.

BlackHole motorsports also lured me into LFS (via TOCA2).. I think I still have the bookmark - wonder if it still works..
"The server at www.bhmotorsports.com is taking too long to respond."
Nope!

Anyhoo, I played the demo for a couple of years until I could afford a new PC which I bought specifically to play S2.. I remember raving to my friends about the physics : "look - FWD cars understeer! Wow !"

Still lurking - in fact I've been lurking ever since I discovered the game

Cheers and Merry New Year,

Great post - I also downloaded the demo in the early days, and was amazed by the handling : wow FWD production cars actually understeer like real life!! Alas my PC was too slow to handle more than 3 vehicles, so I held off buying S2 until I could buy a decent rig (500MHz PIII, principally to play this amazing game )..

10 years on I just pick up and play offline occasionally, and still keep checking back on here for updates, which will no doubt get me back online again. LFS has categorically been the most enjoyable and best value for money software I have had in over 20 years of gaming.. (I did play Geoff Crammond's "Revs" to death tho on my BBC Micro back in the day).

Anyway, it's encouraging to read a thread without people bitching

Cheers

I've downloaded Historix 1.9- and I absolutely love it ! don't forget it is rF1 only tho..
I still feel LFS is the champion on multiplayer and driving feel, but the awesome content / graphics / sound of the Historix saloons means I tend to open that up first these days :-/
Plus being able to thrash them around the Nurbugring / Isle of Man Course / your-favourite-circuit-here and all the British Touring Car tracks is a big draw to me..

I am really looking forwards to LFS taking it up another gear - I just wish they would do a deal with some of the talented Mod teams out there.. (I know this has been discussed to a death already). Don't panic tho Scavier, LFS got me into Sim Racing and I love your work ideal. I'll be stumping up the pennies for S3 as soon as it is ready

Cheers

I won't try to beat it because I am s-l-o-w. I see in your signature you have the load cell mod tho.. I've been considering buying it because I would like a more realistic braking feel on the G25. Before purchasing, I wanted a personal recommendation - is it :

1/ easy to fit
..and more importantly..
2/ any good ?!

Thanks

Quote from sosna :If anyone is interested you chould check this out http://www.apelectrix.com/.Its really easy to install and totally transforms the brake feeling, its based on pressure and not travel.Especially for iR users, braking will be much more easier.

About it in iR forum http://members.iracing.com/ifo ... adID=28939&tstart=175

Has anybody here used this brake pedal mod (in lfs/rfactor) - it looks like a good solution ?

I found my username amusing when I joined 5 years ago.. TBH I didnt realise how significant it would be in the game (or how long I'd be hanging around !) Now I just get embarrassed when my relatives visit and my nephew wants to play..

pah who am I kidding - i still find it funny - age is just a number

Cheers

Merry xmas everybody

I still love this game - and I'm patient (coz theres a whole load of other stuff going on in life).. If it dies on its arse then the people who would suffer are the devs - so why keep griping !

Lookin forward to 2010..

cheers all

I just wanna say a big thumbs up for the extra realism in the patch..
Two things did it for me -
1/ View offset - I use a projector, and sit on the RHS of the room. So now in the saloon cars I can offset the view to reflect my seating position which is a big improvement for my setup..

2/ the 180 degree 'look over the shoulder' is back! - It may seem sad that it meant so much to me - but it was unique to LFS and I was mortified when it got dropped and virtual mirrors / instant looks were added instead...

Cheers

Sorry to drag up an old question - but after a search I couldnt find an answer..

I've got a 22" LCD as my primary monitor, and a projector as my secondary monitor for gaming. I have the same issue as the original poster : when playing LFS fullscreen on the secondary monitor, I want to browse web / play music on primary monitor. As soon as I click on the primary monitor, LFS minimises to the task bar.
I suspect this is the fault of windoze, but does anybody know any better??

Thanks

Z16 all works fine for me - thanks Scavier

and most importantly :

Quote from Scawen :Other changes to view system :

Two button look (left + right) is now double the one button look and
this allows up to 180 degrees look (like old versions of LFS).

Cockpit view Z-buffering has improved so you should not usually see
missing parts of your seat or the car body when looking around.

Woohoo !!
(I'm easily pleased)

This may be quite sad but I miss the smooth 'look over the shoulder' to see out the back of the road cars.. it felt more realistic than the 'snap to instant rear view' in my opinion, and was a nice touch unique to LFS
I remember the change to Instant 45degree, and the rumblings of discontent which (possibly) led to Scawen making it optional.. another cool thing about LFS - user testing of patches !

Cheers

..when your pc didnt have the oomph to run it !!

I put off buying a license for 2 years as my ancient pc could only handle 3 cars at a time .. I was so impressed by the driving model tho when S2 came out I splashed out on the hardware to run it (a 500MHz pIII - woooo)
Still loving it too !!
