Live For Speed S2 Skin Kits

-- XRG PRO KIT Special Edition **SVG format** --

***This file has been created in SVG format. You will need a graphics program that handles this type of file format. Inkscape, (for example) should handle this file properly.

CONTENTS:
Full layered kit with each view having its own layer.
High quality wireframe overlay @ 2048 x 2048 pixels.
Black Mask overlay @ 2048 x 2048 pixels.
Blank Skin @ 2048 x 2048 pixels.
Optional: Bonnet, light covers, spoiler lip, license plate border

Seperate layers have been provided for some components like mirrors, bonnet etc.

All files are created at a resolution of 2048 x 2048 pixels. To conserve
resources you should resize your final skin down to no larger than
1024 x 1024, large textures can cause lag in-game for all players who
have the skin.

I have supplied the larger resolution of 2048 because it is much better
for adding details to your skins. So I suggest that you do your editing
and artwork in 2048 then resize down to 1024 when you are satisfied with
your work.

How to use this kit:

1. Open the SVG file provided with this kit. You can ungroup objects contained within each layer.

2. A blank skin has been provided on the lowermost layer. Create, add, and edit until you are satisfied with your skin. Use the wireframe as a guide to help align your graphics and decals. The wireframe follows the polygons of the 3D model so you can easily see how the "skinnable" areas fit
together.

3. You can colour the layers of each view (left, right, top, front, back, etc...) or create layers yourself. Consult your software's manual if you don't know how to work with layers. Many excellent tutorials are available online.

4. When you have finished your work and have checked it for errors, remove or hide the wireframe layer.

5. The black mask overlay can be placed on top. The black mask helps to reduce the file size because it covers the unskinnable area with one colour (black) rather than the several shades of grey we see on the blank skin.

6. Check your skin in the CMX Viewer and/or in game.

7. Make final adjustments and resize to 1024 x 1024 (for compatibility with LFS world skin sharing) and save your skin as a
JPG file, use compression if you wish but be aware that quality will suffer
slightly the more compression you use.

8. Save or export as a jpg file

Thanks to Andylec for the wireframe data, thanks to all who tested the files, including the crowd over at Master Skinnerz.

Thanks to Scawen and Eric for advice and insight and to Victor for connecting the racers to the best sim in the known universe.

*Updates to the 3d model prompted the last update, the old kit is now redundant in LFS.

This kit may be considered to be a beta version for testing the potential of the SVG format for skin kits. Updates to this kit are not guaranteed.
